Took more than a quarter for the game to finally start being broadcast, so not much to discuss. Seems clear that McCloud doesn't want to run, since he could have taken off a couple of times but chose to throw the ball away. Tons of rust, presumably on both sides. USF up 7-6 midway through the 2nd quarter. Feels like a game where depth is likely to take a toll in the 2nd half.

FYI - The Citadel has been part of lots of USF history. First USF road game. First USF loss (both games in 1997). First USF game in Raymond James Stadium. First game for new head coach Jeff Scott. First game in the COVID era.

First game ever (I think) with a zero yard punt return TD (you'll have to see the "highlight" to believe it. USF up 13-6.

Matt Campbell not having a good day. First coached Iowa State to another opening game loss, then decided to punt for The Citadel, muffed the snap and then barely got his foot on the ball that a USF player caught before it even got out of the end zone. Definitely not getting on a party bus tonight!

Kicking game leaving a lot to be desired. Missed a PAT earlier, now missed a FG. Second half underway.

Maybe not the most exciting game, but given the circumstances this year the most important thing is just starting with a W!

Starting RB Johnny Ford apparently hurt his knee and is out for the rest of the game. Given that we're also down 3 starting OL, some of the offensive malaise is understandable.
