I love the guy and hope the best for him. But since this is a business (cause thats why he left right, that was best for him); what is best for us?

He loses and maybe some recruits we are both in on come our way?
He wins and it improves our brand?

Seems to me we need talent. I'm feeling pull against.

Don't really care...

But it is better if he loses for us.

If coaches leave Memphis and don't do well it begins to look like their success was due to Memphis not Memphis was successful due to them.

I disagree. If coaches continue to perform poorly after leaving Memphis (and all AAC schools in general) then the AAC will never be seen on par with the P5. Their success in the AAC will be seen as a result of bad competition

Agree to disagree...

The only way the AAC will be seen on par is to beat P5 teams.

Norvell needs to find some guys who want to win. They looked awful & what's worse, they didn't seem to care.

He didn't take his biggest ace to FSU in Coach Ryan Silverfield.

As I recall --- FSU cut his salary---he barely makes more than he did here---factor in cost of living--- he probably is making less

Never heard this...

How would they cut his salary if he was under contract?

It was voluntary due to COVID financial losses.

I don't know. Difference between us and FSU is definitely the offensive line. Brady White would've definitely won the game if he was at FSU.

They have learned how to lose it’s gonna take gutting the roster and rebuilding with new players unfortunately no program especially a blue blood program will give a a coach time enough to do that now.

They can't break in the open field like we were doing. Those ACC defenses are alot faster than AAC defenses. Luckily they're playing against a freshman qb.

What are you talking about? The AAC was ranked higher than the ACC and that is including Clemson. It amazes me how some of our fans have an inferiority complex. Brutal.

It was obvious that Fl State does not have the players that the Tigers have on both sides of the ball....

As someone said the grass if not always greener on the other side...

FSU finished 6-7 last year and most predicted them to be a middle of the pack ACC team this year. Norvell had his first training camp with this team a month ago. Give him a minute.

It isn't.

Florida State slashed payroll this summer and Norvell will only make 45K more than he did here.

I think the challenge means more than the money. He did all he could do here.
