RE: Sunbelt Conference kicking butt today
Louisiana and Arkansas State have been G5 powers for some years. Honesty, their programs are top notch and would be yearly favorites in CUSA.

Offense seems similar to Miami (as does Louisiana) - run heavy with QB that can make plays. Louisiana QB seems to be the best passer of the 3...

RE: Sunbelt Conference kicking butt today
Amazing what playing even half disciplined football can do. Really the only stupid penalty I saw was the unnecessary roughness call on the Arkansas State frosh DB very late in the game. Honestly it looked like something a UAB DB would've done (or have done in the past). I do not understand how year in and year out UAB plays such undisciplined football. I can understand a hustle mistake, maybe a hold here and there trying to keep your QB from getting killed. But the late hits, unsportsman like conduct calls, the damn false starts....the center had TWO of those the other night. This is a legit question......does UAB practice/scrimmage with actual officials at practice? How does the coaching staff deal with this??? This is costing us games and has for years. It doesn't cost us so much in the pathetic CUSA, but when we play teams of equal or greater talent this is costing us BIG TIME. I'm through, thanks for listening........GO BLAZERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Why would the Sun Belt want UAB? We can't beat P-5 teams.

Closer teams like Georgia State and the T-word down there than La. Tech or So. Miss but it's my honest opinion.

The Big 12 is a true dumpster fire right now. Houston Baptist has almost 600 yards passing against Texas Tech

UAB should schedule weaker P5 teams to be honest. I get the paycheck isn't as big though.

Lol. I’d join big 12 in a heart beat but we will be in the AAC sooner than you think. CUSA and the Belt can fornicate each other for all I care.

Like, tomorrow????? Seriously, that would be a wonderful Xmas gift...I did look back at past realignments and they are usually announced toward the end of basketball season (makes sense if you don’t want to make every team on your schedule hate your guts), though I’m sure the higher ups know long before then.

I was looking at their scores yesterday and had forgotten that a) they only have 10 members and b) outside of OU and UT there are no consistently dominant teams. Having said that, they are probably ok with that for the basketball profile they have.

No matter how badly we feel about losing to Miami, imagine what the Texas Tech message boards look like today.

Like when the NCAA makes a decision on whether or not the AAC will have to add another team to continue holding their conference championship game. Right now they have a waiver through the 2021 season and will follow a format similar to the Big 12.

The only way the AAC adds a team is if they are forced to do so.

AAC granted waiver through 2021 season.

It is likely that the AAC is waiting on the BIG 12 to move back to at least 12 before adding new members since any new members would probably come from their ranks. As we move into the new decade, who are the most financially stable and therefore attractive (to the AAC) programs in C-USA and the SBC? I believe the AAC would be likely to prefer an urban university over a rural one for TV market issues.

You realize that 2021 is next year? NCAA fiscal calendars begin July 1st. That means the AAC has to remedy their situation one way or another by next season to be ready for July 2022.
