Sure it does.

I think the Big Ten will vote to play next week. I also think the MAC will then throw together a five or six game schedule. How that works out, who knows?

VaTech postponed their game this week due to COVID. They are "hoping" they can be back practicing in 4 days. The school has over 600 positive cases to date.

WVU suspended 11 players before today's game, for undisclosed violations of team rules ... I don't know what rules, but the university has also suspended 29 students from school for COVID violations.

Miami reportedly has over 1000 positive cases at the University, and students with positive COVID tests have been given police citations for hosting house parties while they were supposed to be under quarantine.

ESPN reported that in a nationwide survey of athletic trainers, less than half said their schools were properly following the designated COVID protocols.

According to ESPN, the Big 10 is suppose to vote on a return to FB within 72 hours. Earliest date is rumored to be October 17 with the championship in December.

would rather have a rocket season in the spring with fans in the stands than play games with this glass bowl. safe thing to do is play a spring season instead of trying to navigate pandemic sports on the fly. the key is to have a plan to make the most of that spring season and have it be better than a dicey truncated fall one would have been.

Spring season coupled with summer practice and a fall season. Bodies will never recover. You are also assuming Covid will be magically gone by Dec so practice can start in Jan or Feb. A spring season does not make sense to me. I appreciate your safety concerns Pono. I see it otherwise. The MAC never should have canceled their season.

Go Rocket!

Agree on both counts. If you are not going to play this fall, wait till next season.

We know that being outside, the virus disperses more widely and that sunshine kills it. Being outside, you're less likely to be exposed to the virus and if you are, the load will be greatly diminished. If outside is too dangerous for sports, inside is far more deadly. How is the MAC not cancelling Winter sports when we all damn well know this disease will spike in the winter? I think it's because cancelling football was a financial decision more than a safety one. Either way, the safety/financial circumstances don't change in the spring. Play in the fall or don't play at all.

How is UT football saving money by not playing in the fall?

Yep playing in spring was always just a pipe dream, it was just dropped out there to soften the blow of no fall football

These are the challenges CFB faces and will be issues throughout the fall season for those conferences still playing

Hello- no clear paths forward to be sure. A jumbled mess just like the rest of the Covid situation. I sometimes feel like nothing I’ve heard from anyone is true or factual. That’s not a good situation. Not happy. I only trust my own judgment.

Go Rockets!

Yea like plenty of COVID-19 there are many uncertain aspects and unknowns, its a new infectious disease that continues to spread with science working hard to keep up with data and results to best inform decisions. And unfortunately across the US too many people, including states and local governments, ignoring best scientific information, risk putting people at exposure. I think if you focus on the best science information, including talk to experts in the medical field, especially infectious diseases and public health, you can make the best informed decisions personally. The information is there and can be trusted, unfortunately social media, new media, your neighbors family and friends, employer and many state/local agencies and governments are not the best sources to seek out answers.
