Campbell @ Coastal

Back to back FBS games for the Campbell Camels.

Campbell has 4 FBS games on the schedule.

And no teams were willing to schedule games; per the accountants at JMU?

FBS teams are not exactly afraid of Campbell. They ARE afraid of JMU!

Yes - Campbell would agree to play App State, Wake Forest, Kansas, and Coastal Carolina, but JMU was just too scary, keep believing that the entire system is rigged against JMU.

Keep believing that the JMU admin is out to sabotage JMU and JMU athletics. Keep sitting in your cat bird seat claiming they aren’t honest, they are lying to us and have some kind of ulterior motive. Your crazy way of thinking is a lot more far fetched than some FBS schools not wanting to use their one FCS game against JMU.

It’s Campbell. They could have scheduled 15 games.

Bourne indicated that JMU had 4 to 6 games lined up. 3-4 OOC games which would have included the contract pay game with UNC today and 1-2 games with CAA teams that would be deemed non-conference since the CAA cancelled the league season. 4 to 6 games would have been a good Fall Ball season in preparation for potential Spring competition.

JMU had the one FBS game it gets annually and reneged on the contract because of a panty waist decision tied to the cancellation of the FCS championship.
Throw the $500k out the window and just consider the players and the program. Players want to play the best opponents and they get far more development competing against them. The program gets more juice from one game against UNC than the rest of the regular season combined.

JMU is behaving like a second tier football program and they will continue to be treated like a second tier football program as these types of decisions are made.

Ignoring the covid situation & player safety as they travel to such games and visit other communities during those trips, I actually agree with your POV very much.

Per the head football coach at JMU.

You guys don’t see a difference between Campbell’s football program and JMUs and why the answer would be Yes for Campbell and No for JMU? You are letting your anti JMU admin blinders impact your common sense.

Agree.

No need to lump me in with the others. I merely pointed out that Campbell is playing back to back FBS games. And that is certainly a bold move for such a young program. Any inference beyond that is on you guys.

All we can do is wait out retirements, nothing football or conference related is going to change under KBA.

King leaves us with great facilties which was half the battle.
Facilities is what we were going to get from this crew from the get go and we got it in a big way.

Look to the future and hope that if a regional conference actually does form it's not the next and last bus JMU misses because of, take your pick from the list of 100 reasons we will debate until we all are dead.

Good game so far

"You're not worth the risk of playing unless you are FBS" isn't really much of a complement, and just highlights that we are stuck in the wrong league

So cool to see the AD's at App and Marshall come together to sign a three game deal during the virus.

The hard work pays dividends.

It was a good, competitive game although there were a lot of penalties. I thought App’s TE was going to cry the whole 4th quarter after he got stripped from behind at the 3 yard line.

Nice win for Marshall On national broadcast TV. With the SEC coming online next week there probably won’t be anymore opportunities Like that to take this year.

I figured App was a level or tier above Marshall As a football program the last several years and that they would win by 10+. Down App State team, higher level Marshall team or just a weird Covid season ?

We laid a turd. We have some voodoo curse on us after we get ranked where we immediately play on national tv and then look like ****. I think this is 3/4 for us doing that now.

And to your question, I’d say all of the above.

He did look pretty bad, and I thought it was pretty bad taste by the production crew to keep showing him. I mean after the play sure, but they just kept going back to his face over and over. Seemed odd.
