The Mocs are coming to the Burg after hosting JMU last year and it looks like it will be in the mid 70's with a slight chance of rain in the morning, but clear skies in the afternoon and evening for the game. It should be another great day to tailgate in the valley.
The Mocs are getting some votes in the top 25, but are trying to break in a grad transfer QB who couldn't get on the field at ODU for 3 years. The Duke's defense should be licking their lips for a chance to give this guy a rude welcoming. An easy early lead will give Cignetti plenty of chances to play both QB's in attempts to discern who will grasp the starter's role. Johnson or Maloney? Maloney or Johnson? Make up your mind Cig!!! It doesn't matter in this game as the Dukes run wild for 300+ yards and dominate a lesser FCS program.

Back to reality...
The Dukes aren't playing in 2020, but Chattanooga is. Although the SoCon cancelled their conference season, the Mocs are playing in October against FBS Western Kentucky. Weird Wild Stuff. A one game season.
There won't be a full slate of college football until the SEC starts Sept 26th, but there are 42 teams playing this weekend including Clemson at Wake Forest where the Deamon Deacons will get their first ever College GameDay visit this Saturday morning. Now there are only 6 FBS programs that have never hosted GameDay, but this day probably won't end well as Wake's stud QB Jamie Newman transferred to Georgia then opted out of the season due to COVID. Coach Clawson may take a step back this year in what could have been a banner season for the Deacs if Newman had stayed. Perhaps he will consider returning to Richmond if Wake's record turns south after his slow build to relevance in the ACC.
Worst of all, Deangelo Amos and Adeeb Atariwa are practicing with UVA and now only 8 days away from sporting the orange & blue on the field. It will be interesting to watch and disgusting at the same time.
