growing up in my neighborhood, we'd call him a fagt.

Jokes aside, we should try to stick to criticism of his actions and political opinions. There’s plenty of material there.

His nitpicking of Transylvania U accepting Sandman is fine on one hand, because he is an alumnus if that school. However, professionally and ethically he should have separated that from any work he does with the ACLU, if he didn’t make that distinction clear.

Given that he knows nothing of Sandman but a speech at the Republican convention and that media lied about him and paid for slander, I don't think its fine. Even more so since Transylvania is an established liberal arts school, not a radical liberal school like some of those in the northeast.

Given that I don't know or care what he knew, how he knew or when he knew, alumni of colleges regularly criticize things their alma maters do. However doing as an employee of a major organization like the aclu is different if you are publicly identified as being such. If he felt he had an opinion to express, right or wrong, he can do so and I can choose to ignore him or write him off as a moron.

But using the ACLU moniker to promote your opinions is wrong if you are not doing so in an official capacity. Its a matter of keeping your private life separate from your professional life.

That’s a good point. As a young man he may not have learned how to do that yet.

Au contraire. Isn't that the standard among today's so-call journalists?
