Tapper is certainly entitled to his opinion and he can vote for whom he chooses.

However he is supposed to represent "fair and balanced" presentation of news and events. Simply put - he does not.

RE: Jake Tapper interfered with the PA election [Update - BUSTED!]
After reading a few articles on this prior to actually been busted, it appears gthere's at least 3 reasons Tapper was trying to get Parnell not to run against Lamb.

1. Tapper wanted Parnell to run a primary against another good republican. This leads to a primary battle where the two destroy each other and possibly allows a democrat to sneak into a usually red district.

2. Tapper wanted to help Lamb because Parnell is a good candidate who could beat him, even though the district is blue overall.

3. Tapper was afraid that Parnell was a good enough candidate to get more republican voters in the district to come out and vote for him, which would also mean they would vote for Trump, which could affect the presidential election in the state.

Quote:The source wondered how many Republicans have nixed the idea of running for a specific public office because the influential Tapper talked them out of it over the years.

I put the O/U at zero.
