I don't follow. Half of those schools I would contest are quality schools by nearly all metrics.

Least reputable-These are all near the top of the list in NCAA major violations. So they do quality and quantity on cheating.

If that’s what the list is supposed to be then it was a pretty big fail. Wisconsin? Oklahoma? NCAA violations? What? And FSU had one incident with a professor over a decade ago which was self reported... so what are you even talking about?

If the list was the top violators and cheating, then where’s Auburn? Louisville? North Carolina? Kansas? Miami? I think it’s really just a list of schools you don’t like and tried to thinly cover up.

Free Shoes U? And there was no violation for covering up for Jameis Winston.

You just don't like facts. And facts are not friendly to FSU. I actually like FSU and Bobby Bowden. And you wouldn't expect Wisconsin on this list, but they are.

Now I was limited to 8 so I had to choose where it was close. The link listed a top 10.

We can argue about Winston, it’s one of those things you either believe he did it or you believe that the same DA who charged Peter Warrick and cost him the heisman probably wouldn’t have been scared to charge Winston if the evidence was there. For what it’s worth, if you ever want a good read into it, the entire case report is easily searchable online.

FSU has definitely had its infractions in the past, but my point is this: when you think of dirty programs, you don’t think of Wisconsin and Arizona State and Wichita State. You don’t think about the programs that get caught, because the ones that are really good at it don’t get caught or at least don’t let it stick... /insert ubiquitous UNC-NCAA comment here. If you want to really make a list of the most systematically cheating/rule-bending programs than you can’t narrow the scope and only look at the programs that have been punished.

As a side note though, I am surprised about Wisconsin. Anyone know what the heck happened there to get caught that many times???

Not knowing about ASU is likely due to one's age.
ASU had five programs placed on probation within 21 months in the early '80s and went through three ADs while the probations were handed down.

Wisconsin had a free shoe issue around the same time as FSU but 26 players had to serve suspensions of various lengths in 2001 as it was their third major violation in eight years. However, players were given shoes between 1993-2000.

Howard, Spelman, and Moorehouse shouldn't be lumped in.

If they aren’t in the worst 8, then they’re not lumped in.

Whether Winston did something illegal or not, the way FSU/Tallahassee PD handled it stunk to high heaven. And Winston was oblivious with his crab claws and his rant standing on the table (don't remember exactly what he said, but it was pretty tone deaf for someone investigated for rape). Sometimes you get bad apples, so it isn't what he might have done that was the problem (now if you get a dozen of them, that's a different story). I had a sister who worked at FSU and she just said everybody was a little embarrassed that year and didn't have the enthusiasm they had the year before.

Well here is a thread with updated USN&WR rankings:
https://csnbbs.com/thread-906765.html

P5's dumber than Ole Miss (by USN&WR) aka The 2021 Hall of Shame:
Kansas St
Washington St
Louisville
Oklahoma St
Mississippi St
Texas Tech
West Virginia

Those seven and Mississippi can be your 2021 "Poison Ivy League". Arkansas tied Mississippi so we can have a league of nine. Texas Tech and West Virginia? You know you got problems if you're behind Mississippi State.

What 8 schools would be in it?

SMU
Texas A&M
Oklahoma
Memphis
Wichita St.
FSU
Wisconsin

List is invalid without Baylor and Penn State. NCAA violations are surpassed by institutional coverups of major felonies by athletes and/or staff.

My understanding is that the K-12 public schools are the ones on the struggle bus.

I haven't read much suggesting the universities are GREAT, but I haven't read any publications suggesting they're bad, either.

Mississippi #162 USN&WR, Mississippi State #211. They are the two worst ranked in the SEC. Southern Miss is ranked "#293-381".

If the K-12 schools in Mississippi struggle, where do you think the Mississippi schools draw the majority of their students from and is a coincidence they will be low ranked? Most I hear about Mississippi is it's a state people don't want to live in and people want to get out of. That being said, do you think top students from out of state would want to go to Mississippi and Mississippi State? Doubt it. So I'd guess the top students in Mississippi go to out of state schools, the next best go to Mississippi, the rejects of Mississippi go to Mississippi State, etc. That tells you everything you need to know about their academics. And again, you wonder why I don't respect the SEC as much as everyone else and hate that they are glorified as much as they are.

This is just one writer/website's opinion, but a ranking of "Most & Least Educated States in America":

https://wallethub.com/edu/e/most-educated-states/31075/

Not a surprise to me as to who is at the very bottom. 6 of the bottom 7 are SEC states with West Virginia the other. 7 of the top 9 are in the Northeast (Colorado and Washington are also in the top 9).
