RE: Who are you rooting for? 2020 CFB
and I don't think fanbase was really complaining about the money so much as the how.
Real or just percieved, the manner of his recruitment and leaving doesn't leave open "good guy" and given that he's gone, it doesn't leave open redemption to THIS fanbase. In that year, so close, his ONLY acceptable behavior was total sacrifice save family. And no one believe holding his family together meant leaving for Ames. We weren't all his bestest buddies like some apparently were. It's not a wound time heals. This feeling has no opportunity for change unless he somehow again becomes involved in the program or saves a small child from getting run over. Even that might not help for some.

Let's see the CFB "season" play out first, still good chance a complete season is never finished
I don't get this comment. It's as if you're actually rooting for the entire football season to be canceled. Football is happening right now and it's a thing of beauty. The doomsday comments aren't necessary.

I don't see any "rooting" in his comment. I don't think we can wish this away. There are already programs reshutting. I'd put it into the pragmatic column, getting emotionally prepared for the bad.

You still don’t get it !!
MC and the AD at Iowa State handled this whole thing about as unprofessional as possible... He may be a good guy/coach, bottom line is, Campbell would leave his present so called (wonderful, dream) gig in Ames in a NY minute if the $$$ was right ...
As does every other coach moving up the ladder. Especially one making a career at being a good coach at ISU!

Where did I say I was rooting for no CFB? I was simply responding to this comment "I hope the MAC is kicking themselves in the foot." My only point is that a successful CFB season will be a complete one, and only time to assess decisions made by MAC and BigTen, whether they were right or wrong would be in December.

Fair enough...
The fact is, that it was obvious that something was up that Friday morning... From pregame warmups to the overall lackluster performance by the team... Toledo was not beaten by a team with superior talent even though you said they were an up and coming/confident 8-5 PJ Fleck squad, it was rainy, Russel’s miscues, blah blah blah...
That 2015 Rocket team had the players and momentum to cruise into the MAC championship game with confidence/possibly a W and an outside chance to sneak into a NY6 bowl game...
It was all there for the taking... Can you imagine the positive media exposure along with the major financial windfall that could have taken place...
Only if, and only if, MC could have held off on taking the ISU job. I have no problem with UT coaches leaving to upgrade themselves career wise... Life as it is in the MAC and other G5 conferences...
In retrospect, probably could equally blame the Cyclone AD for not being tactful and slow up on the recruitment of Matt Campbell till January...
Just my personal opinion of the matter...

I imagine it with our mbb team every season and we continue to stumble. Winning a bowl game and finishing 10-2 was good enough for me at that time. It helped that Candle got over the hump in 2017. But let's not act like that Title team was nearly as good as the 2015 team and defense. Campbell did that...

Y’all are welcome over at Yosef’s Cabin anytime. But only for this season. Once Toledo football returns in 2021 it’s back to normal.

Really should do a one for one. App St has never been to the Glass Bowl and I know a lot of the Rocket fan base would enjoy a Fall trip to Boone.
Teams like Arizona, Boise St, Colorado, Mizzou, UMiami, Navy, Minnesota, Purdue, Indiana, Iowa St, Kansas, Syracuse, Pitt have all made the trip. You'd be in good company.
