RE: Week 2 Sunbelt Projections
GS and App win.

We get 1 of the 3 P5 games.

If this were last season I might could pick ULM but I think it's a rough year for the warhawks.

South does better when people doubt them, so Tulane by 10 in the first game in the stadium.

How much better is Texas State really? I dunno, but the Bobcats will win.

I like your optimism!

I agree with some of this but Kansas St and Iowa St will take the W IMHO.

Wow. I mean I love all the love we're getting but I dont think we can beat anyone by 30. I hope I'm wrong but I think us playing SMU close isnt as big a deal as everyone seems to think. We are definitely improved though so thats good!

Y’all definitely have something cooking up to be real special at TX State. I think SMU was a good matchup, some things to still work on for sure, but overall I’m very optimistic of TX State over the coming years

Agreed. First games of the season tend not to reveal a whole lot, particularly this year. Neither school (due to COVID) came into game 1 as prepared as they normally would, and it showed. Plenty of mistakes by both teams.
Couple that with the fact that SMOO handled us pretty easily last year, and it wouldn't surprise me if they came into San Marvelous expecting this contest to be another cake walk.
Despite all that, I liked what I saw from our Bobcats, definitely an improved squad from a year ago. I could see 5 to 6 wins from this group assuming we stay healthy (and the season is able to play out). I don't see us as 30 points better than UTSA, but I could see a Bobcat win between 7 to 14 points.

App State vs UNCC - App by 13
Louisiana vs Iowa State - UL by 2
ULM at Army - Army by 30
UTSA at Texas State - Texas State by 7
Campbell at Georgia Southern - Stink win by 1
Arkansas State at Kansas State - KSU by 9
Tulane at South Alabama - Tulane by 10
Coastal at Kansas - Kansas by 10

I’ve got us going 4-4, winning one of our 3 P5 games. While I think it’d be hilarious if the Chants beat Kansas again, I suspect Les Miles will have spent all summer reminding them of that loss.

I can’t tell if the Jags are good or if Southern Miss sucks. Tulane should clarify it. I think USA has a shot but Tulane is a good ball team.

I hope Arkansas State can prove me wrong.

I have no hope for ULM.

If UL is who we hope they are, they MUST win their game against Iowa State. P5 wins are paramount to long term success. No more consolation prizes.

App State vs UNCC - App by 24 - App St is on another level than the improving UNCC

Louisiana vs Iowa State - Louisiana by 10 - similar styles of play, and pretty even teams on paper.. Louisiana more experience in the trenches/backfield. no home field for ISU

ULM at Army - Army by 17 - I dont know what to expect from ULM this year. but we seen Army

UTSA at Texas State - Texas State by 10+ - having 1 game under your belt is huge this year. 10 points is minimum, expect bigger win

Campbell at Georgia Southern - GS win by 30 - nothing to say

Arkansas State at Kansas State - KSU by 1 - I really want to call the upset, and like i said above, having 1 game under your belt is huge. so im going as close to a push as i can, without calling upset.

Tulane at South Alabama - Tulane by 13 - USA makes more strides, but Tulane has a big head start on them.

Coastal at Kansas - Coastal by 10 - I will enjoy this upset. Coastal is under rated.

I don't think Les Miles is going to lose to coastal twice in back to back years.

Fun fact: two of Troy's best receviers came from JUCO, and were set to sign with Les Miles (and Chip Lindsey) at Kansas right before the 2019 season. Chip left Kansas as OC and becomes Troy's head coach those receviers now reside in Troy, AL, and boy are they good.

betting lines are now out. Kansas at -4. not a ton of faith in les miles not losing to coastal.

How do you figure Tulane has a head start??? They were 7-6 last season, not like they were burning up the world. We’ve beat them before, we can do it again.

GO JAGS!!!

Calling it right now, Campbell and GS go to 8OT. GS escapes by field goal

Tulane was once the bottom of FBS just like where USA started this year. however, they have been recruiting well and coached well for a few years now. as you said they were over .500 last year, they have better depth, and more experience at winning games. so, its not really a debate. to me they have a big head start on climbing up from the bottom of FBS compared to USA. I will agree with you, that you can beat them again. just not favored to do so.

This week will be interesting. There's a lot of meta to consider with how your team reacts to beating southern miss. If they're still riding a high, they could come out overconfident and unprepared. Some may be overvaluing the Southern Miss when you take into consideration that 4 key players opted out of the season, and the team had a vote of no confidence and walked out on Jay Hopson (not sure if this was before or after the loss to USA). He has now stepped down. I do think South Alabama is better, but how much better depends on how they adjust to teams having more footage on your monster QB/WR duo as the season progresses. It's my opinion that Campbell is a great coach, and the Southern Miss win may very well be the turning point that rights the ship. How the team handles winning moving forward will be very important.
