I know thats just me but its gonna take some time to gear up to care next year.

P.S. if Bama is really trying to get Saban to the game, they have lost all touch with reality.
They could set it up so Saban could coach virtually. Maybe have a robot that he controls from home. It could roll up and down the sideline and yell at players and the refs.

The NCAA said he is not allowed to coach Virtually.

I was half joking, but that is a tough deal. What about coaches up in the box? Is that not considered “virtual”?

Same. Haven’t watched a single game. May watch Georgia/Alabama. Or maybe not.

It appears C-USA football is playing okay, with the virus. I seen each week that several C-USA football team are on National TV for millions per week. Even with few fans, we still could have made money on TV. I say Wood jumped to quick, on his decision. Of all the states, Virginia is holding steady on the covid19, and among a small number of states. For the fourth time is Broderick, Wood and sports staff cutting thier salaries? Wood lives in a mansion, so maybe he can't afford a cut.

RE: Was ODU's decision, right or wrong
I was listening to The Kerry and Mike Show on WNIS the other morning and they had a short discussion on ODU not playing football this year. Someone called in and said it was a money issue and ODU had no choice. Well, I have read all the comments on here and have not put my 2 cents in, but my question is... does Ga. State, Charlotte, Ga. Southern, Troy and the list goes on and on have more money than ODU has? It seems to me there have been problems, but haven't most of those problems been overcome? Now, if it was all about players and coaches health and safety, why are they practicing? I just have questions on why every school in the country except ODU and 2 others can play football. I am interested in your replies and also would like to add a plug for The Kerry and Mike Show at 9am weekdays on WNIS. Good show. And, I have no connection to the show.

I agree with everything here. Just pointing out that I haven’t been able to get into this season at all. As giles said it seems fake especially with Sunbelt teams in the top 25 and everyone outside of Clemson, Alabama and Georgia looking so bad. Maybe I’ll be able to get into it more once the Big Ten and PAC 12 start playing. Just seems like there are 3 good teams and everyone else sucks and ODU isn’t even there to join the suck.

I wish ODU was playing BUT I also wish this was a normal season. It’s not. The whole thing needs an asterisk appended to it. It’s like a play where half the roles are being filled by understudies. It’s fine, and it’s not like there’s anything better to watch on a Saturday, but it feels inauthentic. Hoping next year things will be a lot closer to whatever passes for normal.

Agreed - these games have the same feel as watching the NFL preseason. Even if it’s your team playing, it’s still hard to feel that the game is anything but a scrimmage.

Also, off topic, what happened to the COVID thread?

I must be in the minority because I'm watching more college football than I ever have because I'm not spending my Saturdays at ODU football games. CUSA got some exposure the first few weeks, but this week was back to normal with games on Stadium and ESPN3. Plus 2 more games were postponed this week and Rice still hasn't played a game yet.

Regarding the COVID thread, it has been moved to the Off Topic folder.

I'm with you. I have no problem watching and enjoying these games. And I definitely don't get the preseason thing. It looks and feels like any other football season, especially as someone who doesn't really watch a ton of Big Ten and PAC 12 games. It's getting even better now that there are starting to be fans in stadiums.

I have enjoyed watching too. I enjoyed watching the Wake UVA game this week to scout ODU's opponent for next week, UVA. Oh wait I almost forgot, that game was canceled. It still kind of sucks.

I fall into the haven't watched a single game camp. I was never a big football fan to begin with until ODU got football, so don't have a big urge to watch other games. Well between that and having 2 kids playing baseball on the Saturdays and some weekdays, making time to catch games is low on the priority list.

I'll get ramped up again next season. Until then hoping to watch some odu basketball.

I am a huge college football fan and was long before ODU fielded a team. I do thinking having kids makes it tougher to follow. Its just far down the priority list at the current times. I did try to catch Bama/UGA; was actually Excited foR it.....but I feel asleep at half :)

You saw the better half. Bama showed there is a clear difference between the top 2 teams and the rest (of the teams that have played)

I suspected QB play would be the difference.

Marshall cracking the top 25 isn't odd. In the 23 years Marshall has been IA they have cracked the top 25, 27 times. Twice this year already. They came in at #25 in both the AP and Coaches poll after the Appy State win. But in this crazy season we didn't play for 3 weeks and dropped out because of it. After whipping 3-1 LA Tech, Marshall who was setting at #26 AP and #27 Coaches enters the AP at #22 and Coaches at #25.

We're not that far away from having two recent Big South schools in the FBS Top 25. Honestly I'd be scared to play this season because this is like the fifth or sixth trumpet of the apocalypse.

Coastal is newer than we are to football, or at least FBS football. Gotta admit, Im a bit jealous right now. It may have an asterisk, but nobody can ever take that ranking away from them.

Yall don't look too hard, Liberty 5-0 is knocking on the top 25 door at 31 this week. In 2 weeks VT vs Liberty could be a top 25 game. 03-puke
