When I turn on Notre Dame football, I expect to see a grass field, gold helmets and gold pants, and games against traditional rivals (the Michigan schools, Purdue, Navy, USC, and eastern schools such as Pitt and Boston College). I'm not a Domer at all. I've never been a fan of them. I've always rooted against them. But I respect them. And Notre Dame is bigger than a conference, whether I like it or not. I thought it was weird to see them playing basketball in the Big East, and is even more weird to seem them play hoops in the ACC. I think Terry nailed it when he said that he sees the other ACC schools as adversaries and business partners. This is still a mid-Atlantic conference. For ND, it's a place to play basketball and other sports, and a port in the Covid football storm of 2020.

Getting rid of a grass field at Notre Dame should’ve been a fireable offense.

Brian Kelly and Jack Swarbrick have changed/added many, many things at ND:

1) $450 million dollar stadium renovation/addition;

2) the giant Jumbotron;

3) Field Turf;

4) Athletes' training table (players used to eat at general dining halls);

5) New 114,000 square foot indoor practice facility

Brian Kelly just said that ND will be an independent again next year

ON IF THEY WILL REMAIN IN THE ACC NEXT YEAR OR WILL THEY RETURN TO BEING AN INDEPENDENT

"This has been a great opportunity for us. Let's make no mistake about it. We were in a very difficult situation without games from the PAC 12, which we we love playing USC, we love the rivalry there with with them, as well as playing Stanford, and the Big 10 games.

The ACC obviously came through for us in a very difficult time and we're indebted to them for that.

But we're going to continue as as an independent after this year and we just feel as though as a university and what we've been able to get from that, us alone, in terms of what works for us at Notre Dame, it may not work for others, but what works for us is this opportunity to play USC, to play Navy, to play Stanford, to play the Big 10 schools, and to play some of the ACC schools as well.

So, we're grateful for this opportunity this year, but we look forward to our independence too.”

Yep, this is just an exceptional year. If Covid is gone next year, ND will be Indy yet again.
