So what that tells me is that they expected everyone else to follow their lead, and when they didn't, they knew that they were screwed. It seems like it must have all been a big political statement.

That is 100% the case. When they mentioned the other day the possibility of late fall or winter football, they had some of their media hint at "wouldn't it be better if the ACC/SEC just pushed back their start times so everyone starts the same??" and both conferences pretty much collectively LOL'd and told the B10 to kick rocks.

Trump has the Presidents over a barrel. If they cave he is the bipartisan hero who saved Big 10 football. If they dont cave he has another campaign issue against Sleepy Joe on the key swing states

Whitmer's gonna be piiiiiiissed

At a guess, they start after the election (mid-November) in domes.

Plus there's still time for the conferences playing to experience spikes & be pressured to shut down by media & Faucci

It's not gonna happen. They are not playing this fall. After lots of pressure for the conference to release the results of a vote by the Presidents (some accused them of not even holding a vote) they released that it was 11 - 3 not to play this fall.

No matter who puts pressure on them, at this point, it's a done deal.

If they don't play, then we will go ahead and call Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin for Trump. Maybe this even pushes him over the top in Minnesota too after the thugs have burned up half the state.

I'm guessing there will be a compromise. The B-10 will play before the end of 2020 and Trump will have another swing state victory for the general election. Whether they start Oct 10, or Thanksgiving, or Jan 1 is not material. The fact that they don't wait until the spring is.

How can it be a failure if they cancelled the season, then said we'll play in the spring, and now they'll start in October?

Is it like saying I'll leave the Spin Room if I lose a bet but I'm not and consider yourself a huge success.. Speaking of successes, name me a few of Biden's.

RE: President trying to save Big 10 football
Not going to happen for Trump. The majority of the people in these swing states put football dead last in priorities in voting. Not even the crime rates. The number 1 issue that the people in the Big 10 states is the healthcare issues and the Coronavirus tied to it which Trump is failing at. Yes, Trump have the money for good healthcare, but like 90% of this country have little or no healthcare at all. Tying Biden to the riots is failing for Trump since Biden for years was one of those law and order Democrat who is being accused by the far left to be a Republican.

Vote her out of office for backtracking. The health and safety of the people come first above football. That makes good leadership.
