Sanders: We Will Mobilize People to Make Sure Biden ‘Becomes the Most Progressive...
Quote:Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) told his followers that they will “be mobilizing people all across the country to make sure” Joe Biden “becomes the most progressive president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt.”

Sanders used the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic to bash the medical system and President Donald Trump because we all know that none of this would have happened under failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

In all honesty, it is hard to follow Sanders’ rant because it contains all of his usual talking points: Free healthcare, working people, billionaires suck, income inequality, blah blah blah.

Sanders admits the economy sucks and laments about people not having jobs or money to pay rent. Does he realize that the Democrats pushed to shut down the economy, which caused people to lose said jobs!?

All of this ends with him wanting Biden to become FDR:

“The day after Joe is elected president — we’re going to be mobilizing people all across this country to make sure that he becomes the most progressive president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt.”

What a shock. You mean the Democrats are going to use the pandemic to push their progressive big government ideas? No way.

The New Deal:

Almost everything FDR did to jump-start growth retarded it. The rise in the minimum wage kept unemployment intolerably high. (Are you listening, Nancy Pelosi?) Roosevelt’s work programs like the Works Progress Administration, National Recovery Administration and the Agricultural Adjustment Administration were so bureaucratic as to have minimal impact on jobs. Raising tax rates to nearly 80 percent on the rich stalled the economy. Social Security is and always was from the start a Madoff-style Ponzi scheme that will eventually sink into bankruptcy unless reformed.

How about the 1933 Agricultural Adjustment Act? He paid farmers not to produce crops:

What happened when we paid farmers not to produce? First, Americans had to pay more for bread, corn and cotton shirts. The higher prices for farmers meant price increases for customers buying farm products.

Second, because farmers were growing smaller crops, we used up more quickly the food being grown, and soon had to import the very crops we were paying farmers not to produce. In 1935, the U.S. imported 36 million pounds of cotton, 13 million bushels of wheat, and 34 million bushels of corn.

How about we make a president act like President Calvin Coolidge and his Treasury Secretary Andrew Mellon?

Their policies saved us from hitting a depression in the early 1920s. Mellon insisted a cut in taxes and Coolidge lived by laisez-faire, which allowed failing businesses to fail. It was tough at first, but within a year, everything cleared up.

I highly recommend Mellon’s book Taxation.
