Still awesome to see those highlights. The speed advantage you guys had over them was pretty remarkable. Little ole FCS team took it to them.

Though it probably makes me a terrible person, my favorite CFB radio calls not involving Georgia Southern are the Iron Bowl "kick 6" and David Jackson screaming after Corey Lynch's block.

I forgot how App scored so little in the second half.

What still impresses me today is the resilience of that App team.

People forget that Mike Hart broke off a death run with about 4:30 to go in the 4th, giving Michigan a 32-31 lead.

We got the ball back to answer and Edwards immediately threw a pick with 4:00 left. Many of us thought that might be it.

But the defence forced a quick 3 and out and Edwards drove the offense right back down the field about 70 yards to kick a field goal with :25 second left to give us the lead 34-32. Rest as they say is history.

I was a student at TXST. I watched the first half at home and then went tailgating before our game. I remember getting updates through the crowd and the reaction when they pulled it off. The two biggest upsets that stayed with me are that one and Boise beating OU.

RE: Did someone say September 1st?
Two non-game memories stand out from that day (I was there) were...

1. I had a plain guest ticket. Still inside the stadium gates I stopped a Michigan fan and asked for his home ticket...it was blue with (I think) a Heisman trophy on it...he was collecting them too and had a dozen or so in his hand. He didn't want to give it to me because he knew it was historic (and probably something he could sell on ebay) but he did give me one.

2. We were standing around in disbelief talking to some Michigan fans afterward and one of them told me we ruined her senior year. Hahaha.

9/1 is also the date of TXSTs biggest FBS win. Bobcats beat Houston. UH had lost the conference championship the year before and missed their BCS bowl. We got our only votes for a top 25 ranking after that win.

I remember that win for y'all. We were the team that beat Houston in that conference championship game. I remember people had BCS shaved into their hair for that game.

Biggest upsets ever. Up there with the USA hockey upset over USSR. GSU upset Tennessee this year and one of your old coaches is now on the GSU staff. They asked him which was a bigger upset. He said you couldn't even compare as ASU only had something like 40 or 50 scholarship players at the time of the Michigan upset. Michigan had a lot of seniors come back and put off entering the nfl. Michigan ended up beating Tebow and Florida in their bowl game that year.

I hyped myself up so hard when the Bucs drafted Dexter Jackson. I thought that was the steal of the draft. What an awesome win.

We dropped a wide open TD pass (settled for a FG), and had a FG hit the upright on back to back possessions in the 3rd. The score should have been 38-20 heading into the 4th. Add in the 3 turnovers, and that's the majority of our 2nd half possessions. We also went very run heavy. I doubt UM ever gets close had we converted those two chances.

People always think that Michigan team was terrible for some reason. They ended up ranked #18 (got as high as 13 in November) with a 9-4 record. The beat #10 Penn State, and had that Citrus Bowl win over #9 Florida. They lost to App, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Ohio State. The later 3 all finished the season ranked with OSU playing in the BCS Championship.

RE: Did someone say September 1st?
Definitely one of my most fond App football memories... However, during the last 4 years, we have lost to Tennessee (9 win) in double overtime, Penn State (10 win) in overtime, Wake Forest (8 wins and beat Texas A&M in bowl) on last play of game, and have beaten North and South Carolina. We have had a nice stretch recently.
