I like McMurphy, but he's trying to make it sound covid is really doing this to the game, when it's really mostly Laura.

Maybe someone needs to clue him in.

Seems like multiple sports people pointing to ULM's COVID cases as the cause.

Start the year with three straight road games. First home game is now October 8th. No bye week for Troy during the season. I would sit most of the team vs EKU just to get some guys fresh.

Stay in your lane buddy ... if you don't know what you're talking about, it's best not to talk.

In any case, I wouldn't be surprised to the SBC CG moved to the second Saturday in December. Not a big deal really, that's usually where Army and Navy play and getting NCAA permission shouldn't be hard.

There is no NCAA permission. We can play the CCG whenever we want. Remember, all the 3 P5's playing aren't even playing until the 19th. The idea of leaving the date flexible was so games could be rescheduled with ease.

the league has already said if CCU were in the CCG it would move
so I would think same would apply to these 2 teams
we have Liberty at home on 12-5

Ok, I don't meant to derail, but if that's the case I have to know what the heck are we doing playing our CCG the first week of December when everyone else does?
We could get better TV exposure playing the last week of our RS when the P5 has the CCGs and then have our championship for the next week. I mean, that's the main reason Army Navy gets good ratings, and why the FCS quarterfinals usually played that weekend has had some of its highest rated games ever.
We could probably increase the value of the TV contract doing that and give us all an extra bye week.

Let me clarify, THIS YEAR we can play it whenever we want.
In the past, even if we could move it (possible) whoever played that day would likely be playing in a bowl the next Saturday.

That and nobody else playing Army/Navy weekend is kind of an unwritten rule.

This year can and will be different.. I think we can do the game at a different time slot than Army/Navy.

We did have our CCG scheduled for Dec 5th. There's a boat load of other regular season games that day too. We have now moved it to Dec 12th since we have 3 members of our conference playing on the 5th, which is the same day as Big 12 CCG, and Army/Navy game. SEC CCG is Dec 19th. ACC CCG will either be Dec 12th or 19th. Not sure if CUSA or AAC has their CCG scheduled yet, but proabably either Dec 5th or 12th.

Parts of ULM's campus lost power yesterday and it's still off, no ETA. That in combination with a supposedly "staggering number of positive tests" make me glad this game got moved.
