The cheaper and easier it is to test the more likely we are to find the people with mild or no symptoms before they spread it. Dancing banana 02-13-banana

It could be $1 and most people without any symptoms will not get a test.

But is spreading this really a bad thing? Actually the more people under 30 that gets covid the better we all are because only one person in the world has tested positive for a "new case". He didnt even realize he had it the 2nd time. Caught it 4.5 months later and his body had built up a defense to fight it off to where he had no symptoms. Along with a very slim chance of passing it to others. If you believe the science

When I was 5 and my brother got the measles my mother didnt hide myself and my cousin who was living with us from it. She put us all three in the same bed so she could deal with it all at once. Maybe that was wrong but that was the way we (every part of our family) dealt with things like this in 1965.

I know you cant do it today but the while damn football team should got it a weeks ago and been over it....99.8% they lived through it. A lot better than the odds of a football player getting killed or dying if school was shutdown

I think your 99.8% is way too low for college kids. I think it would be closer to 99.98%. I am basing this on the CDC believing 10 times as many people that we know about already have been infected.

I recall my folks talking about having "chicken pox parties" to get it out of the way with all of us when we were younger.

I think what you are really saying is you don't care if people die.

People die that includes you and I, at some point. The odds say if you are 30 or under covid wont be the cause of your death. Hell the odds say you will more than likely get food poison and it will affect you worse than covid-19

Quote: According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), every year, 1 in 6 Americans experience food poisoning. The most common symptoms are nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping, and diarrhea.

Some will die from it but we still take that chance by going out to dirty restaurants to eat.

The odds say someone under 30 will die from a car crash than covid. Yet they still drive. Yet as parents we buy or help buy them cars. Yet as parents we buy them phones to get distracted

Quote: The rate of deaths per 100,000 people in 2018 peaked at ages 20-24 for male drivers (13.3) and at age 18 for male passengers (4.0). Death rates peaked at age 18 for both female drivers (6.0) and passengers (4.0).

So id you do either of those I think what you are really saying is you don't care if people die.

Bullcrap show me something that states that young people with covid is killing old people? As you know (from stats I showed you) 2/3 of deaths in KY are from asst living or nursing homes.

Tell me how little Johnny killed Granny? National that number is well above 50%. If Granny doesnt have enough sense to stay away from people under 30, no matter how much she might love little Johnny, or Jill. Kind of makes you wonder how she made it to old age. If she chooses to be around them. Its her choice...not yours.

PERSONAL F'ING RESPONSIBILITY

Granny should be sitting at home with her doors locked sitting on her back porch or park her ass in from of the TV watching reruns of Matlock if she feels like someone might endanger her life.

Can you show me evidence that only old people work at retirement homes? That none of the people that died had any contact with a person under 30? That's not how the world works and it's certainly not how contagious diseases work.

Great news on cheaper testing. More testing and faster results is a large key to containing the virus.

Again I asked you to back up what you said and you give me assumptions.

But on second thought Granny should stay seated as often as she can. Not worry too much about little johnny killing he with covid...

Quote: How many elderly die annually?
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: One in four Americans aged 65+ falls each year. Every 11 seconds, an older adult is treated in the emergency room for a fall; every 19 minutes, an older adult dies from a fall.

We have never as a nation or world asked others to shutdown their life. To protect granny. We expect Granny to use common f'ing sense and do everything in her power to lower those odds. If Granny cant do it we expect her husband or children to do it....

we have never asked the world to change for granny. We dont with more deadly diseases by banning sugar or alcohol or tobacco. Which would be a lot more controllable than a virus

We ask granny to show some PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. Knowing full well that even if she does everything in her power to stay safe....

she's going to die at some point. Maybe even earlier than she should. Its called LIFE

You're talking jibberish.

You have to decide if your position is that more sick young people (who have less risk) don't put people who are at higher risk in more danger as you alluded to in your initial post. - "Actually the more people under 30 that gets covid the better we all are"

or

Are you saying **** your kids grandparents they need to be more careful which air they're breathing.

Only one of these is defensible. It's cold and heartless but I can't argue against it.
