Cisse committed to Memphis on July 15.
So Vitale didn't push Cisse to Memphis after all.

I still say if people feel Cisse was willing to LSU for pay...

It is not a good look for us to land him.

Who said that he was? A recruit can't do anything about a coach offering him money.

Oh I agree...

But if a recruit was about to sign with a school known for paying to get guys...Most would assume when that blew up he went to the next bidder.

Not saying that is the case here...But those are the assumptions that are made.

All in your imagination.

Assumptions don't matter. There are always assumptions at Memphis. Just like there are assumptions Duke does everything legal.

NCAA will look into it, absolutely. But this time, we won't be admitting anything - not even if we bought him a McD double cheeseburger from the value menu.

Substitute "Cisse" for any 5-star.
Substitute "us" for any school who lands them.

No one would say that about Duke whenever they land a top guy, though. So I get your point as far as the bias that people have.

Everyone knows Duke and Kentucky pay for their players. Ask Zion.

LSU is going full FU to the NCAA on this by supporting Wade.

Pat Forde SI Article: Wobbly Will Wade Has Some Explaining to Do

Quote:Even within the brass-knuckles recruiting world of the Southeastern Conference—where four basketball programs are currently under NCAA investigation—Wade is reviled by his peers as a next-level cheater. But a bad reputation and bad publicity haven’t yet pierced the Baton Rouge bubble to the point of costing him his job.

In fact, the word that was tossed around in three different Wade-related conversations Wednesday was “confident.” As in, LSU officials are confident that Wobbly Will can survive yet another swirling tempest.

If he survives this, the NCAA is a certified joke. This would set the precedent for future recruiting violation punishment and hopefully bring the whole organization down.

The NCAA is already a certified joke. This would be the cherry on top.

It's nice to get these feel-good stories on former Tigers and what they are up to now. From the Forde column...

Start with the “strong-ass offer” wiretap, which is Wade talking with Dawkins about a deal he’s attempting to make through intermediary Shannon Forman. The pertinent transcript:
Wade: “I went to him (Forman) with a [expletive] strong-ass offer about a month ago. [Expletive] strong. The problem was, I know why he didn’t take it now, it was [expletive] tilted toward the family a little bit. It was tilted toward taking care of the mom, taking care of the kid. Like it was tilted towards that. Now I know for a fact he didn’t explain everything to the mom. I know now, he didn’t get enough of the piece of the pie in the deal.”
