I had an email exchange with Coach Lester last year where I indicated how much I liked some of the stuff that was aesthetically held over from the PJ era... including the Ghost Bronco... Tim indicated that he, along with the players LOVE that logo and he hopes to not see it go anywhere... So... if there is a change there its not coming from the HC.

Didn't ask about ghost bronco. None of this change is coming from athletics. Heard it's the higher ups.

I have NO problem with the Ghost Bronco! Love it!

I just want them to keep it BROWN!

It would be nice if there was a feminine Bronco for the woman's teams.

Why not incorporate a Horseshoe logo into the mix?

Just a thought...

GO BRONCOS!!

FEAR THE BROWN!!

When I see a horseshoe I think "Colts," not "Broncos."

Would have worked with the Cubit-era uniforms with the shoulder stripes.

I don’t feel strongly about the Ghost Bronco either way, other than if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

I hope this isn’t being driven by more expensive consultants in an effort to gloss over the bursting of the college bubble—no amount of rebranding can change the cold hard reality of what a college degree means and costs today.

^^^^ I definitely think it's an attempt to connect to older alumni.

I agree I don't care for the Ghost Bronco either way. On one hand I know a lot of fans really like it; On the other hand I think it's a problem our other teams don't use it

I think the Ghost Bronco was introduced at a time when Coach Fleck was introducing new traditions. There was some pushback that we already had traditions and lots of awesome history. So the Ghost Bronco was a way to put all of that on the field.
I thought it was as cool at the time and I still like it because it puts a symbol of our past history on the field.

The Ghost Bronco on our helmets is too big, especially the nose.

Looks like an angry Quick Draw McGraw.

RE: Back to brown and gold
So... you would rather have the big dumb block W with the bronco draped over it... in what feels like a poor attempt at a high school logo contest over the ghost bronco...?

You do realize the ghost bronco is the same bronco logo from the past... just remove certain overlay colors... its the same damn logo... just utilized in a way that shows some sort of creativity.

Using the block W in our logo again will only re-iterate our inability to create any energy through creative ideas... just a giant fall back. Stupid.

Relax, Homer.

Didn't say anything about doing away with the Ghost Bronco, just that as is it's too big on helmet.

They need to resize it for perspective so it looks like what it's supposed to, like when it was first introduced in 1998, and not as if somebody splashed paint on the sides of our headgear.

Lets agree to disagree.

Look at how boise has worked its logo over the years... I love the fact that the ghost bronco takes up a sizeable side of the helmet... and was utilized on the white pants in years past.

My overall point is that you need to lean on the players for direction in ideas like this.... what makes them feel good about donning the uniform. But find consistency.

Can you imagine what the hockey team could do with the "ghost" version of the bronco logo? Basketball team? Come on...

RE: Back to brown and gold
If as StrikeGold1 posted above adjustment in school colors etc. is coming from "higher ups" Ghost Bronco could be on its way out.

They may be trying to standardize use of university branding.

RE: Back to brown and gold
We need to standardize our branding. At last count I had 4 different logos worn across all teams with a couple of varieties of the block W.

I see this as a good way to drive brand consistency AND save money!

The Bronco head over the W has been our consistent logo (w/ the exception of Ghost being the primary for football) - the school seems to be at least making a push for it. Our colors are the only thing that need to be more consistent. If football goes to Brown & Gold, but hockey still using black & Purdue gold, that doesn't help the overall brand

Based on the new ice at Lawson we may have a clue as to the direction. Pictures are on the hockey forum.
