Georgia State #63 was the 1st thing that caught my eyes, ahead of 7 P6 members... Good for them.

Including "BIG BROTHER" living down the block from them.

RE: USA Today Ranks all 76 teams still playing
There was another poll similar to this one. I don’t recall which one, but ECU was 56 or 57 on that one I believe. Anyway, we haven’t had a winning season in five years, so I get the ranking. We’ve kind of earned this level of respect. We will see what they do this year. I believe things are getting better.

Yeah, I saw that earlier and I've got to say GT is FAR better than that. One year of trying to modernize a previously option offense is going to take a big step in the right direction, and we both know Collins can coach.

I've said it before in response to other polls and I'll say it again -- SMU is very under ranked. I'd put them just inside the top 25 among the 76 remaining schools.

56th is hilarious. I don't think we're top 25, but Pitt sure as hell isn't.

The cbs football rankings have the AAC teams ranked more appropriately IMO. They seem to like us a little better than USA Today.

CBS College Football Rankings

13. Cincinnati
14. Memphis
15. UCF
26. SMU
31. Navy
35. Houston
38. Tulane
44. Temple
58. USF
60. Tulsa
68. ECU

2 to 3 recruiting classes should do it... Might take a little longer because it is Georgia "Tech" with "higher admission standards".

It's the coach, the perception is that he will never win the AAC... Wait until the BB polls come out, we might never see "daylight".

Cincinnati, Memphis and App State make SI’s “Top 16 Still Standing Pre-Season Poll”.

RE: USA Today Ranks all 76 teams still playing
That top 25 looks more how it should for the AAC at the beginning of most regular seasons, when all teams are playing. Basically 2 top 10s and another top 20, with a handful of teams right outside the rankings looking to jump in. I know it's special circumstances but after all these years of rooting for the conference to get some respect it's nice to see 4 teams ranked in the official AP poll at the end of last year, followed up by a nice showing in a poll this preseason. Finally getting some love, congrats 04-cheers

With that being said, I do think a few teams are too low. I think Temple routinely gets no love then goes out and has a solid to good season every year. 56 would be where I ranked them if all 130 FBS teams were a go. But now? That's an insult. I think SMU should be top 20-25 as well, but at least 34 isn't insulting. I think Houston, USF, Tulsa and ECU are all ranked at their respective floors, but could see any if not all of them finishing 25-30 spots higher. Should be an interesting season!

Also, let's say a lot of people do view UCF, Cincy and Memphis as #'s 9, 11 and 16. Assuming the conference has a great OOC (beats all top "P5" opponents, wins 75% or more of its OOC games), could this be the year we finally get to see UCF 'Bama? 02-13-bananaCOGS02-13-bananaCOGS

While it’s certainly more possible, CBS still has the AAC on the outside looking in.

https://mweb.cbssports.com/ncaaf/bowls/predictions

Though it does have both Cincinnati and Memphis in Selection Committee bowls which would be quite an achievement on its own.

Also has UCF in the Citrus Bowl versus Tennessee.

Selfishly I’d be delighted if App State does end up in the Outback Bowl versus LSU.
