It's been a very long time since I looked up the data, but I thought it was recommended to fluff up the pellets something like every month or two. But many locations were only doing it a couple times a year.

As long as a turf was installed with proper drainage to prevent water from pooling, the field on the fourth day would have been identical to the first day.
