RE: New AP poll
Memphis Tigers with the majority of their 12-2 AAC championship team returning, not ranked in the top 25 is a total joke.

Well yall were only 1 spot out which is pretty good considering your coach left. Take out the Big10 and Pac12 teams and you're likely top 20.

There may be multiple spots

Our coach left before the Cotton Bowl. New coach was in charge. I'd say we played pretty damn well. Scored more points on Penn State than anybody all year, including Ohio State.

How'd the defense do?

A lot better than Houston would have done.

Because their players didn't quit till the end of the season?

Because a team with a losing record wouldn't do well versus a BIG NYD team?

Idk, Memphis is still kind of new to this football success so sometimes they struggle with the trash talking part.

I wasn't really trying to take a shot at them just trying to balance out their inflated view of self. This conference has never had more than one team ranked preseason, this year we had two and Memphis was the next up at #26. There's no reason not to be excited with those results. Memphis is in a strong position to start the year despite the legitimate question marks they have coming into the year. The voters actually gave them a fair amount of respect. If they had won they NY6 bowl they would be ranked no question. That they lost and are still receiving a lot of votes shows how far this league has come.
