Well, Final, as the news articles said his talent is not in doubt. The question is whether he can stay legal, eligible, and committed long enough to contribute when you need it. So one possible answer to your question is that the last walk-on on the GCU bench is more valuable than an NMSU player who has left the team. Let's hope it doesn't turn out that way, if he's actually playing he will make the whole WAC better.

You act like he is a gang banger who has always been in trouble with the law even though his legal trouble was just one incident. You also act like he has grade issues even though he has never had grade issues. He is already on campus. He is going to play.

He has had issues controlling his temper since HS. Is Bi-Polar and according to this article below he can never get out of his own way. He can score though. I hope he plays a full season. He's a product of child abuse from his Dad which is more the reason why he has had some of the issues he has had.

He will play. Just watch! He is already in Las Cruces.

Yeah, so? Take a closer look at what BCG is putting together under the radar. Basically a roster full of 6'6 220+lb. NFL linebacker-sized freakishly athletic young guys. Added a few bigs as well. We're adding the muscle to match our hustle! COGS

There is only 1 guy who is 6'5 220 and he barely averaged 2 PPG at Western Michigan. You really think that is the guy to stop Teddy Allen who averaged nearly 17 points playing in the Big 10? That's some funny stuff.

This guy will own him

If he gets by this guy

It would be a mistake to trust the interwebs when it comes toTarleton's roster. We are a much bigger/stronger team this year.

I just hate hearing about all of this. I am pulling for him to overcome some of crap he has had to endure in his life. I'm hopeful Coach Jans can help him take another step along the way. We will see how it unfolds. There really are two roads this one could go down.

GO AGGIES!!!

Look up the sordid pasts of Zach Lofton and Trev Queen. I'm gonna got out on a limb and state that Jans and NMSU did pretty well with them.

BTW, it's funny watching the 2 biggest trash talkers on this site "go at it". It's like watching a pillow fight. Gibberish and nonsense...

NMSU receive the verbal Commit of Levar Williams (6'2, 190-lbs, JC) from Indian Hills where he averaged 8.0 ppg.

Well, he has a lot of untapped potential. Harris was a Top-100 HS prospect in the 2018 recruiting class. For what ever reason, his game failed to materialize at Rhode Island. We will see what Jans can do to jumpstart his game.

As a Junior is he sitting out this year or does he have something that makes him immediately eligible?

Since he entered the transfer portal before July 1st and this is a one time, first time transfers he is immediately eligible to play this upcoming season by new NCAA rules.

There are always some hidden gems among these transfers who never quite thrived at their old school, and waiting to break out in a new environment.

Its always fun to see who becomes a breakout star and who plods along as they have in the past.

Well both Midtgaard and Gak had modest stats at their previous school prior to entering the WAC. And, we all saw how much their stats exploded once they were in programs where they could flourish.

RE: 2021-22 WAC Basketball Commitments...
He got more playing time as a freshman and sophomore, so coaches may have brought in other guys who took away some of his time, he might have had injuries, or who know what when on.

But he seemed to do pretty well, starting over 60 games on 18-15 and 21-9 teams in the A10, so he's obviously a player.

Interesting to me is that be just jumped in the transfer portal the day before the deadline. To me, that says he was welcome back (no major academic or other issues) that he was uncertain about his future there (which may be encouraging, because if it was definitely on the outs with no chance to playing, he would have been in the portal first thing) and may have had limited transfer options due to full rosters at this point in the season.

Without knowing much about him, I'm optimistic. We have a roster full, so he's not a make or break player, but I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a contributor. 2 years as a starter in the A10 is a credential not all that many players come with.

I read he was dealing with an injury at the start of the season and I think they brought in some transfers that were probably just better.

That would explain it. Depending on the coach, sometimes once you are out of the rotation, you're really out. I'm used to NMSU playing deep into the bench, but that isn't the way it works everywhere.
