Midtgaard came to GCU with modest numbers. If Drew can pull every bit of talent out of the P5 transfers, GCU will be formidable next season. GCU will have a lot of size next season.

Ultimately, Jans might sign players of comparable talent (hopefully greater) to GCU. The 2021 recruiting process is still early. But Aggie fans need to reconcile to the fact that Bryce Drew is a completely different animal from Thunder Tan Majerle. It will be much tougher to win the WAC. I am waiting patiently (anxiously) to see what Jans eventually signs for this upcoming season. But I do know, he will need more talent and better team chemistry than the 2020-21 team; if Jans expects to win the WAC.

You can have your fun smack talking with the GCU fans, Havoc, Lopettes but understand it might ultimately come to bite you on the ass next March. 03-nutkick

Drew still won this past season with DM recruits. Time will tell if he is better then Dan Majerle.

RE: 2021-22 WAC Basketball Commitments...
There's no rule that says a team has to have more than five players on the roster, right?

Excluding players who have entered the transfer portal, and seniors/grad students who would normally be gone anyway, I'm counting four scholarship underclassmen (M. Nelson, R."D." Nelson, Lawrence-Anderson, and Butler) plus one underclassman walk-on (Garcia).

Things should get interesting starting April 14th; officially the beginning of spring National Letter of Intent for the 2021-22 class.

I really like Connor Harding. I expected him to play a much bigger role this season than he did. He seemed poised to get more playing time but Pope brought in a lot as well. I have been catching up on some BYU games from this season in my free time and was watching him just last night. And while he doesn't really shine in any one area, he's versatile, has good size and handles the ball well.

With that said, I'm surprised UVU has a place for him. He's already played 3 seasons, so won't be around long. He's not really a replacement for JJ Overton as a scorer on the surface, but that might have been lack of opportunity at BYU. I could see him playing a similar role as at BYU, but he can be a great scorer as well.

Deseret had a nice article about 4 BYU players who are transferring that takes a good look at the whole transfer game nationwide. Its worth a read.

https://www.deseret.com/sports/2021/3/31...rding-ncaa

Kolby Lee would be a great addition to Dixie if he wanted lots of minutes. I'd like to see him in the WAC, but he could go lots of places. Wyatt Lowell spent much of his time at BYU injured after transferring over from Utah Valley and doesn't have as much of a track record.

Correct me if I am wrong here, but teams are limited to 12 scholarship guys right? (Obviously excluding the seniors staying an extra year who don't count against the cap)

The normal limit is 13 scholarship players per roster. Supposedly, returning Seniors do not count against the scholarship max limit this season. That's if they remain at their current school and don't transfer.
