Surely this will relate to college basketball transfers who have submitted transfer requests, and are already on their future campuses expecting to be eligible, and are still being held hostage by the ncaa and whomever is assigned to approve these in normal years, which this is obviously not.

You’d think so, but ascribing logic to the NCAA rarely works.

True. Anti-logic would say, they transferred before the announcement and thereby saying they would’ve gone anyway so screw em.

Will they do the right thing and increase scholarships or will some HS'ers just get screwed out of an opportunity.

Lots of the seniors won’t come back anyway. There will be some. But some will move on with their life as well.

Basketball is a Fall AND Spring sport...therefore it does not qualify.

Guess they would increase total scholarship limit for 4 years while leaving the yearly limit in place and then after that it will have worked itself back down to the normal limit.

Then they need new representation since they have like 4 teams that actually play a total of 3 games in spring.

But really, I like the idea floated on the radio about them getting a bunch of games in between Thanksgiving and the start of Spring semester. Most all schools won't come back after Thanksgiving, so a bubble / bubbles scenario would work if you have almost two months to get in games

Basketball is a winter sport. It was EXCLUDED (along with Hockey and a handful of Olympic sports) from a similar proclamation in March when they granted spring athletes an extra year. They will review winter sports as those seasons approach.

It will require some additional management from coaching staffs regarding which seniors will come back and how does this impact guys being groomed to start next year, as well as incoming freshmen. But it's the right thing to offer players.
