They have to grant this. You cannot put kids in the position of losing their eligibility if they play half a season and then Covid 19 shuts it down early.

1. Roster sizes don't change. Where are all these kids going in 2021, 22, 23...?

2. Scholarship limits don't change.

3. What happens to the redshirt freshmen class? Are schools going to have 60 freshmen in 2021?

4. How does this affect recruiting?

It's pretty simple, really. For the 2021 season there is no roster size limit and the scholarships of student-athletes would would have been seniors in the 2020-21 school calendar year do not count towards the 85 scholarship cap. Doing so would eliminate any conflict between existing players and those who would be incoming during the 2021 recruiting class. Any issues after the 2021-22 cycle is the responsibility of the individual school.


Will it affect recruiting? Probably a little, but since no players have signed LOIs for the 2021 recruiting class they have between now and December to make the determination if this is an issue for them or not.

And there are 26 conference not playing this fall.

The B1G and PAC12 will be pissed. The other conferences that play this year will be older teams.

I still don’t believe we will play. I’m hopeful we will but college kids will do what college kids do.
