Michigan. Harbaugh has been pushing to play.

It can’t be Michigan State after sending everyone home 5 days after collecting tuition and room/board payments.

Just play every B-10 team that is available once and schedule the rest of the games OOC to get to 10 games. And yes the B-10 is turning into a side show with the rebellion at hand.07-coffee3 Do you think this commissioner is going to last? 05-mafia 04-jawdrop

If this comes to fruition, you will probably have a champions only final four with no or limited fans. I think the Pac12 won't be able to react in time, in addition to the politics, preventing those schools from competing. OSU vs Clemson/ND, Bama/UGA vs OU. Some likely combination of the four champs is the best possibility we can hope for.

I would think Michigan St but another poster said likely not them. What if the above 8 schools played? Talk about a fun season:

Iowa, Michigan, Michigan St, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio St, Penn St, Wisconsin

Leaving out Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Northwestern, Purdue, and Rutgers may be the best path into the future for those 8.

Not Michigan. Their president was a big proponent of the shutdown.

RE: Ohio St. leading Big 10 rebellion
None of this happens if the B1G leadership had been transparent and allowed individual schools to make their own decisions regarding whether or not to play. A few schools felt the risk was too high to play and did not want to pursue a season (which is totally fine). However, to avoid individual backlash and criticism, they also wanted the league to make a universal decision instead and make everyone cancel to avoid being blamed. That is incredibly poor leadership and management of one of the strongest and most prestigious conferences in the country.

Now, there will be long-term and sustained acrimony and hostility between the programs that wanted everything shut down and those that wanted to proceed under the guidelines. The B1G may very well be fractured for years to come, and it all comes down to the B1G leadership failing to accurately and transparently represent each of its individual member schools.

Delaney leaves; Big 10 caves

I agree with everything you’re saying. The Commissioner is weak and not the diplomat that Delany was. He clearly made an opinion, took a side, and acted unilaterally on a decision that needed to have a formal vote without taking into consideration the desires of some very influential members of the conference.
