What does "associated with the football team" mean?

Hope all the players and staff make a speedy recovery for sure.
The greater concern will be around spread on campus and in Boone.

Probably originated outside of the football team, no? Only so many places students can congregate in Boone and based on what I've heard about many college towns, masks are worn on campus but not always off. Having visited both the coast and Caldwell County in the past three weeks, I can tell you that only about 40% of people are wearing masks. Can't imagine that Boone and Watauga County is much better.

Sounds like they only tested positive but aren’t showing symptoms.

Some App players on Twitter are vocal about this being misrepresented. Not sure in what way, but I do know when you've got major athletic renovations/construction going on there tends to be restlessness and resentment with faculty (who just passed a no-confidence vote in the App Chancellor). It wouldn't surprise me if the suspension of practice comes from the head lady as a way to take heat off of her.

You mean the one that received a vote of no confidence?

I haven't heard of a football player that has tested positive and been symptomatic. You know it would be all over the sporting news world if a player was felt moderately ill from this virus; yet every story I've read ends with "are asymptomatic".
18-23 year olds are more likely to experience more difficult symptoms from the flu than from COVID. It's an oddity but it's true. Lingering effects, as had been described by the Big 10 and PAC 12, including myocarditis which is not exclusive to COVID but rather to any illness.
Note that this isn't to suggest that no football player or young person will have a hard time with the virus, only that the difficulty from COVID is in line with that of Influenza, if not less, for the age group in question.

Considering other students are the ones who likely infected the players, it's comical.
Such is life in a lib nook.

Myocarditis, inflammation of the heart muscle, has been found in at least five Big Ten Conference athletes and among several other athletes in other conferences, according to two sources with knowledge of athletes' medical care.

Just to get all the facts out there, myocarditis can be cause by many viruses including the common cold so its not singular or common to COVID 19. Its also very treatable so in the case with our young athletes they have access to very attentive care daily which hopefully should mitigate the risk.

They might be close, but demos in Caldwell and Boone are miles apart. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Caldwell's mask rate was half of Boone's.

GSU true freshman QB out for season after being diagnosed with a heart condition as a result of his COVID infection
That’s got to be an incredibly hard decision to make. At least he won’t lose any years of eligibility. He’s extremely talented from what I hear.

I wouldn't say that they are miles apart outside of the campus life area.
