With the schedule change, even Hop should at least get a winning record. He may fool himself and some others, but he isnt fooling the fans and HOPEFULLY not the AD. Perfect chance to fire his ass at years end without having to suffer through a 3-win season.

RE: Our Next Head Coach
I don't think our talent is that great honestly. We can attribute that to a number of factors, but the fact is that Hopson is intentionally recruiting a low level of player. Most competition we're facing are ULM-style D1s or 1-AA schools. He's not going after good talent at all, and it shows on the field and on the recruiting sites. Heck, in Fedora's worst year, he had more players sign with P5 offers than Hopson had in his first three years combined.

We need to follow Liberty's financial model and become the leader in the Deep South for online learning.

I'm sorry, but if they hire Nix and give us the "he's one of us", they can kiss my a$$ goodbye. As far as I'm concerned, if they do that, then why bother changing in the first place.

Think Id rather Derrick than Tyrone. But yeah, there are several better candidates out there. Much better candidates.

Thats a picture of Croom btw.

To be clear - nothing against Tyrone other than he's from the defensive side of the ball and is just another from the Bower era. We need the offensive show to sell tickets and get fans excited again.

Actually I had just come from another board that listed Tyrone Nix as a possibility and came here with that on my mind. Didn't see the picture until after I posted - just happened to be next in line. 04-cheers

Yes times 1000. IF we were to hire a Nix I'd much rather it be Derrick than Tyrone. I realize Derrick has no coordinator experience but our last 2 hires from the defensive side of the ball haven't worked quite as well as the last 2 from the O side of the ball.

Have to hire an offensive guy. A young coordinator from a successful non p5 school working for a Def. head coach. Preferably down South.

Why a non P5 school? Why not get a coordinator from a P5?

our entire budget for assistants and head coach together may only be in the 1.5 -2 million range.

As much as I wish Monken had stayed longer, I’d much rather a guy with something to prove still chasing bigger & better things than one trying to revisit past glory. Ditto that for Fedora while we’re at it.

A big “hell, naw,” to Luke. We need a guy on his way up the coaching ranks, not a guy who’s already shown that his highest level of competence is as an assistant. We did that sh*t once before, and it was literally the worst hire in the history of college football.

i like Matt Luke he was put in a no win situation at Ole Miss. However i do think you're correct about him, but compared to hop he would be a tremendous improvement.

Monk was at OSU, then Southern Miss before going over to the Tampa Bay Bucs and Cleveland Browns, then landed at UGA.
