I wouldn't want any of that insane commie nonsense infecting the American.

Do you realize how liberal Tulane is? Also, do you realize how liberal Philadelphia (and Temple by proxy) is?

We're a bunch of urban schools. ECU is a conservative rural school - and is the exception to the rule.

...and I have no problems with conservatives whatsoever.

Most colleges are liberal. Most big cities are liberal.

ECU is not conservative by any means. Liberal faculty out the wazoo.

Is it in a rural area? Yes. Greenville is a liberal city because of the university.

Louisiana is a conservative state. Pennsylvania voted red in 2016. I fail to see your point.

California is beyond crazy. Liberal is one thing... California is like another country, and is not a fit for the AAC, especially considering there are so many Texas and Florida schools in the AAC.
You're nuts. That's not why SDSU isn't coming. Lol. But thanks for playing.

If the AAC wants to have a seat at the big boy's table and compete as a Power Conference then it'll expand.

Adding BYU, Boise State and San Diego State would do just that.

Go to 14, with 7 team divisions.

AAC EAST
Cincinnati
ECU
Memphis
Temple
Tulane
UCF
USF

AAC WEST
Boise
BYU
Houston
Navy
San Diego State
SMU
Tulsa

That's a much powerful football conference than the PAC 12 and a annual 7-8 team bowl eligible conference.

I can see the interior being almost identical to ours, but the exterior is a different story. Still, nice renderings, SDSU. Now BUILD IT!

Penny1: Swap Navy and either Memphis or Tulane and that would be a perfect 14-team, seven-team-per-division conference.

SDSU alone, their potential revelry with Navy alone would be worth it.

I just don't want BSU in this conference, and BYU is starting to become a close second, they have never even come close to saying yes.

i understand why Navy wouldnt want Air Force as a conference game, I would be fine with SDSU and either Colorado St or UNLV. Boise would have to crawl through broken glass to just get a meeting with us IMO but we are all bowing to the desires of the mighty ESPN

You would be surprised how many ADs and Presidents would take Boise's call on the first ring.......

And I imagine Aresco as well. One day we will add a 12th - 14th. But who knows when that will be. Or who it will be. My guess would be Boise, SDSU, and CSU. But that is just a guess.

Nah... BYU isn't coming and BSU is not welcomed, That Southwest POD (SDSU, UNLV, and Nevada Reno) I floated in another thread is starting to sound even better now.

BTW, all 3 will contribute to the Basketball Credits Pool.

The AAC is spread out to far. Expansion west ends on the east side of the Rockies with Front Range Schools as BYU is not joining the AAC for FB only. Would be great if they did, but they would return to the MWC with their own Boise TV deal first. BYU returning to the current MWC all sports would put the MWC on par with the AAC. To balance out the FB schedule, add either UTEP or NMST all sports for 14 schools and 7 & 7 divisions. 07-coffee3

It's a little better without UConn. Just have to focus on the SW schools, SDSU, UNLV, CSU, AF, Tulsa, Houston, SMU, Navy.

Temple, Cincy, Memphis, UCF, USF, Tulane, ECU and one more in the other division.

We bought the 166 acre the chargers stadium sits on. We will be build the new stadium, then tear the old one down to expand the campus. More housing, classroom, hotel, commercial buildings and a river park. Once completed we be able to increase enrollment by 15K.

Sounds like a really good add even if the numbers are shaky for now. That level of growth could be... ...devastating if SDSU gains the exposure for it.

Why in the hell are you making less than Boise State in a TV deal? You're an appreciating asset.
Agreed, SDSU is better in every single metric across the boards in academics, athletics and location (and its not close). Boise is indeed a one trick donkey. Boise has peaked and SDSU is still growing and getting better. The Broncos used the AAC/Big East and SDSU as leverage for a bigger TV payday. Not a fan of them or their blue turf.

Houston and SDSU have a big time booster in common... John Moores (Houston Grad and former owner of the San Diego Padres). And yes, SDSU is investing big time! The project is going to cost $3 Billion and SDSU has already secured financing for $660 Million and over $30 Million in donations. We are about to become much more than an irritation to the PAC 12 Conference and the other P5 schools in California and Arizona... Cal, Stanford, USC, UCLA, Arizona and Arizona State.

Can't wait for 2022 and beyond!

Go Aztecs!

Yes it is. We are getting ready for realignment round 2 come 2023-2025. PAC, BIG XII or a BOR conference is likely. I don’t see us remaining in the MWC long term.

Boise is never getting in because their academics are just a grade higher than a Junior College and are in a tiny market with a tiny population.

BYU isn't getting in (at least not the PAC) because they are a religous school, don't play on Sunday's and have all kinds of issues with BYU TV (similar to the Longhorn Network). They are a headache to deal with anyways... SDSU knows firsthand.

You're darn tootin' !

Temple is a proudly liberal university, and not just "by proxy" due to being located in Philadelphia. For decades, it has maintained very strong affiliations with the African-American community in the city, and is one of the most ethnically diverse campuses in the nation.

Accordingly, and in recognition, Democratic presidential nominees have maintained a long-standing tradition, dating back at least to Presidents Roosevelt, Truman, and Kennedy, of making a campaign stop to speak at Temple every presidential election year. In addition, the Reverend Martin Luther King delivered an address at Temple.

"Temple University was founded in 1884 by Russell Conwell, a Yale-educated Boston lawyer, orator, and ordained Baptist minister, who had served in the Union Army during the American Civil War. Conwell came to Pennsylvania in 1882 to lead the Grace Baptist Church while he began tutoring working class citizens late at night to accommodate their work schedules. These students, later dubbed "night owls," were taught in the basement of Conwell's Baptist Temple (hence the origin of the university's name and mascot).

The Grace Baptist Church quickly grew popular within the North Philadelphia area.

Regardless of whether they had the resources to support the school, Conwell's desire was “to give education to those who were unable to get it through the usual channels”.

Conwell used the income from his “Acres of Diamonds” speech to fund Temple as a place where working-class Philadelphians might receive higher education.

The profound message of the Acres of Diamonds speech is that there is an abundance of resources among the everyday people in the community, which though often unrecognized, still has great potential.

You can listen to Conwell's "Acres of Diamonds" speech which is - - remarkably - - still in print, here:
