Memphis may still lose UT-Martin (OVC). they can play their 4 non conference games before a 8 game conference spring schedule, but i doubt they are playing in November.
called it. UT-Martin just backed out. I think there is lots of value in leaving that November date open in case we need it. 10 game schedule - old school. The statement from the athletic department left the door open for a replacement game so I guess we'll see what happens noe
I'm guessing there is an effort to replace UTM b/c it was a home game, as opposed to the road game loss at Purdue.
im pretty sure they value that open date after a trip to navy and before a trip to tulane. that martin game has more value not being paid out than a reduced ticket income

no
can't get locked into a contract to pay someone when the probability of the season happening more than at most 1 week or 2 is below 95%. Their effort right now is reviewing the furlough plans put together six to eight weeks ago and how that is going to rollout.
there are a few lower level teams who want to play but the focus is on being flexible as of today "no". never know if we do play and a team needs a game from b12, sec, acc etc we can make some money going to them

I wasn't clear. I didn't mean a buy game, and I didn't mean necessarily on that date, just simply an effort to get another home game, if that was possible. Something like BYU or Air Force, for example. Or a P5, as you mentioned.
I also hope Shelby County relaxes the 12 foot rule to allow more than 4500 total. The SEC teams seem to be planning to operate at 25% capacity or more.
