because only he has certain "voices" in his head, that tell to post indiscrimnately, without any sourcing, just to generate clicks and get people talking about him - he trolled the old espn big east board, just trying to get hits, to start his own blog / site - apparently, hes still at it - unreliable, self aggrandizing schmuck

so, you want louisville back in the conference
And you wouldn't?
They have a much bigger athletic dept. than any AAC team, but they are a perfect cultural fit in the American. Cincinnati, Louisville, Memphis, and Houston feel like they should all be in a conference together for eternity.

Even the waitress at Jimmy’s Egg said to watch out for the omelette as the chef likes black pepper.
Yeah--it gets worse if you get much north of there. lol...They seem to want to season everything with sugar once you pass Oklahoma.
Iowa actually has good Mexican food (thank you corn fields) Crazy that Oklahoma thinks pepper is spicy.

If we are all honest, we can admit that it would have worked out better for everyone but Louisville, if the ACC had taken UConn instead.
Our football and basketball would have been better, the rivalries with Memphis and Cincy would have strengthened the league and perception. It would have been very close to what the Metro promised to be.
That it would screw university 6 some is just extra icing.

If UConn ends up in the ACC, L'Ville ends up in the B-12 with WV. Depending on the timing TCU ends up in the AAC along with Boise St and SDSU as planned, or if the Maryland to the B-10 move happened after TCU went to the B-12, then L'Ville goes to the B-12 for all sports while BYU is added in the North for FB only. In the later case Boise and SDSU still return to the MWC for the Boise's sweetheart TV deal.
My first reaction was Air Force but I'm thinking round 2 of Boise & SDSU.
I haven't seen it discussed here, but what are the odds that these teams (assuming this is real in any way) are only contacting us about joining forces this year for an opportunity to play? I feel like that would explain the timing. With MWC cancelled, they've got time to explore a permanent move after the Fall season, if there is one.
Just thinking that, with two schools reaching out in the past week, seems like they are scrambling to put together a schedule right now and play.
Hybrid conferences are not desirable, ACC took ND Olympic sports because deep down inside they are still a Basketball first conference and got 5 ND Football game and first option (In Their Minds) if ND were to join a conference.
IMO. if ND ever fully joined a conference it would probably be the big 10.

Sources: MAC sub-committee met Sunday night for an early discussion of spring football. They debated between six games or eight. They debated the calendar — Jan-March, Feb-April or March-May. Also discussed linking with MWest for postseason. No conclusions, lots of questions.

Again, I sure hope we're not thinking of renting out access to our championship like it's a timeshare...

Considering the states we are talking about March-May makes the most sense.

USFFan
I was thinking more that it would be an easier way for a bunch of teams to put together a full, but flexible, schedule. They wouldn't be involved with our post-season, but they could sign on to go with all moves/shuffles that might need to occur along the way.
Think ND's situation with the ACC outside of this year.

it's not much, but at least it's a football season.
The Idaho Potato Bowl maybe?... Cant see any others willing to sponsor that.

Thats why it was so quickly discarded early on---plus it conflicts with the NCAA tournament. I frankly doubt a Spring season will even happen. Nothing is going to be radically different with Covid and then you layer on all the other player safety issues with playing so many games in a such a short span of time---its just a matter of time before everyone throws in the towel on the idea. What I think it will morph into is a glorified extended spring training exercise that ends with a real game (maybe even 2) against conference opponents.
