Devontae Cacok just made his NBA debut with the Lakers, in a 136-122 loss to the Kings. Cacok joins Brian Rowsom and Matt Fish as the only UNCW Seahawks to ever play in the NBA.

Did Jay Neary ever get some PT in the NBA? I know he was with the Knicks & Hawks organizations. Just not sure if he played/scored in a game.

Unfortunately no. Only Rowsom, Fish and now Cacok ever saw the floor in an NBA game.

Five rebounds in 8 minutes against legit NBA competition is pretty damned impressive!

This guy contributes whenever he's been given the chance! There are not many rosters in the NBA he couldn't make, and contribute. Unfortunately I think he's on one of them. I honestly think he's be more valuable than some of the old washed up has been they signed for depth pieces, but what do I know?

You know a lot Hoops! I really like Cacok out there. He looked like he belonged to me. He will get his shot with somebody if it's not the Lakers.

Tell ya what, about 5 years ago I watched an exhibition game from the Bahamas and saw him pick up a ball at half court and dunk the crap out of it and he must have jumped from just inside the FT line. I knew then that he was a special talent. And back then it was just cool to see but you could just tell that he had elite athleticism. Honestly I was really captivated in that game by a once thought about walkon by the name of Chris Flemmings. He showed in that game to me that he was a game changing player.

It's about players and getting the right coach that can get elite players to teach them the system then let them play. That's it. The game has changed over the years so I'm glad that we have a coach now that embraces this. Suddenly because of our new coach and style, UNCW is the place to be again and we are getting great players. It's just a matter of time now and the returners from McGrath can play. It's going to be fun seeing this program elevate back to where it belongs...at the top. It may not be immediate, but it won't take long either. Hawks will have a legitimate shot soon is my guess.
