No offense to anyone, but these S&C guys are all pretty much the same.

If they blow a 22 point lead with 11 minutes to play, it won't be because of the S&C coach.

Weightlifting for basketball is overrated. Glad the days of the high-bulk, low- skill fellows are coming to an end.

you can use that equipement to not get straight jacked. i'm sure mike could have adapted to a new approach; with the different type of player he'd have to. in the land of scant recruiting tools, you hold onto what helps obviously

According to Chad, Rehfeldt was exactly what Brannen wanted. It wasn't like coach forced him out, and based on what's happening with the AD, if Brannen has any success here, he won't be around for long.

Is this sarcasm or are you serious? "Bulk" does not mean "low-skill"

There’s more to lifting than bulk. Every athlete lifts. Golfers lift.

For every great player who's jacked, I can show you five who are just toned, something you can get from bodyweight exercises.

Weight training is used in different ways depending on the player and on the circumstances. I've always appreciated our program's emphasis on it being an integral part of player development.

Probably. Don't think it's the end of the program though. I mean we hired Lurch, right smart guy?

Perhaps the Monster Factory being repurposed into general space has more to do with appeasing Fickell than it does keeping Rehfeldt.

Does football have its own weight lifting facility?

Kobe did the 666 workout in the offseason - 2 hours cardio, 2 hours basketball, 2 hours weightlifting. He was the ultimate gym rat.

Okay, first of all Lebron is significantly slimmed down from his Miami days lol. Older guys need to do that to prolong their careers.

More importantly, this was a really, really bad look for Cunningham. What positive things has he accomplished thus far?

- Canned Men's soccer (jury still out)
- Canned the Strength coach over nothing
- Seemingly did nothing to get CLF an extension before Mich St came lurking or the pandemic hit
-Released that cringey video asking for money
-???

Just a terrible start for him at a time where we desperately need a competent AD.

Some guys just don't show definition as much, no matter how hard they work. Kobe was a great athlete who kept in peak physical condition, but he never really looked all that jacked. Just a genetics thing I guess.

We are replacing a staff member with a guy who is not nearly as experienced or qualified because of this. He may be great but he has more experience working with women’s programs IIRC.

We are just going to run and shoot a lot now so who needs state of the art designated strength and conditioning facilities.

Thanks for the additional information.

Just to check my understanding.

-New AD comes in
-Eliminates state of the art weight training facility for some reason (maybe financial)
-Great Strength coach quits
-New strength coach hired
-Basketball team has to use football facilities now?

Is he going to best Microphone Thomas as worst AD?

How does eliminating a facility that is already in place save much money? No equipment cost, no rent. Savings? No HVAC, lights, maintenance?

These are the times when you need a skilled season AD. We have Rookie Cunningham. I guess we can chalk this up to Pres. Pinto Bean!

Try finding our new AD on Wiki. You will not find him. Do the same with Mike Bohn shows lots of info including 16 years as AD prior to UC. Idaho, SDSU, Colorado.
