His point is that Piscataway,NJ, College Park, MD, and University Park, PA is not in the Midwest.
Columbus,OH, Ann Arbor,MI, and East Lansing, MI are NOT in the northeast.

The term "midwest" was coined when St. Louis and Minneapolis was about as far west as professional sports got. Everything between there and California was the West. Half of the Big Ten is located in the Eastern Time Zone.
In golf, the Western Open is played in Chicago. St. Louis is the Gateway to the West. Until Nebraska joined, every other school except Iowa was in a state that bordered on the Great Lakes. That's the real region that defined the Big Ten.

I would not have expected the ACC to be so pro football this fall but I'm glad they are.
It is really interesting how this P5 divide is playing-out.
The old ACC was historically run by what I referred to as the Tidewater core (e.g., UNC, UVA, UMD...with near automatic support from Duke, NCSt and WFU). A very traditional, cautious and conservative culture. I would expect the old ACC leaders would be leaning towards canceling the season...because there is so much uncertainty about the pandemic and the long-term health impacts. The old ACC may have actually cancelled soon after the Ivy, and before the BIG, made their decision.
The new ACC is much more diverse and representative. I believe that the decision to have an OOC game positioned the ACC to continue football more than even the SEC approach. Similarly, the welcoming of Notre Dame is also a sign that the ACC is more invested in making every attempt at having a season.
There is still a good chance that the ACC has to cancel its season, but it’s impressive how committed the ACC has been to football.

I don't think there is anyone of this board who doesn't know that. The CS/CR forum is as much an escape as it is anything. People need a place to post their sports ideas, fantasies, and relate in ways that are not political in nature and in ways that provide them a break from what they know is all too real.
So you can stop playing chicken little. We all know what's going on. And some of us know more than we want to know already. If somebody wants to do a thread on how Po Dunk Tech is joining the Big 10 or Alabama is moving to FCS what difference does it make? It's an escape. If they want to gab about the difference among the P5 so be it, there aren't that many differences in their administration of sports though other differences are evident. But not one of them is unaware of the risks. People have always faced a crisis with one of a few attitudes. Some solider on and make the best of it. Some hunker down into self preservation mode. And others exploit it. I can tolerate the first two.
