Guys, no one is leaving their respective conferences. Exit fees alone will prevent that from happening not to even think about the money certain schools would give up and the legal ramifications that would be involved.

But I'm sure if the B1G could get a do over they would send Rutgers and Nebraska back to where they came from.....lol!

We’re talking a one off year where their conference is either not playing, or a conference has a hole to fill with an independent team.

Nebraska and Iowa both voted against cancelling the season, both are now looking into their own independent abilities for 2020.

You could likely make one year deals based on the concept that its the safer way to operate. The thing we have to remember is once the Big 10 cancels, the College Football Playoff for 2020 ceases to exist. The remaining teams choosing to play could design whatever plan they want for a year.

For instance, the SBC/CUSA/AAC could agree to join forces for a season, create a 4 team playoff to determine the best G3 team for the year, and market and sell that to ESPN or whatever television network to see how much money they could get.

Essentially if the teams who want to play can work together long enough, they could redesign College Football to look however they want it to look for the year, and shape what the sport could look like in the future.

You think schools wanting to avoid liability means they must care about their athletes more?

Hit the nail on the head. Those conferences don’t care about the kids. They care about their pockets. It would be a huge cost and liability to play for schools. Athletic departments aren’t rolling in money like most people think.
