Yeah, I was going to say Liberty is okay to be Indy. They have the money... at least for now.

Could be. They’re down to just 8 games. 3 at home, 5 on the road. Stay tuned.

I’d guess that BYU is the only non-P5 FBS football program on more solid ground (financially) than Liberty. Say what you want about the Flamers but they’re not going away, unless the entire G5 goes away.

Truth ^^^

Their other choice is to basically be (along with UMass) the New Mexico State of the East.

I think either headline is inevitable for UConn, New Mexico State and UMass. Probably Liberty also if they can't find a IA conference to take them.
Liberty is in a different position: they are ready, willing, and able to throw $$$$ away (as much as it takes) to maintain FBS-status. Those other 3 don’t have the money and don’t have any realistic way to get the money.

Besides, as Liberty lurches into a post-Falwell era (whether that’s now or in the future), they will become less politically-toxic than before. I expect them to join an FBS conference by 2030.

True.

How do you know Liberty will be less controversial when Baby Fallwell goes by the wayside. Who ever was to take over they could go even further to the right like Bob Jones University.

Myself I will not watch either game Marshall has signed to play with Liberty in 2024 or 2026. The Liberty Campus is nothing more than a propaganda machine for the alt right and the rest is just an online degree mill.

They are trying to get rid of him for a reason. He isn’t gone yet. If they succeed in ridding themselves of his influence they will be less toxic.

Baby Falwell is only 58, since he is the founders son he will leave when he wants to. My guess is he leaves in a body bag like his daddy. And less controversial or toxic, you know this how. There are some pretty crazy and insane people at that place. Some that would make Daddy and Baby look like left leaning democrats.
