Smart move by both schools.
Charlotte is part of the UNC system (same safety protocols) and it's only a 2 hour bus ride from Charlotte to Chapel Hill.

Given the trend that seems to be emerging (and will likely accelerate soon) this could be an opportunity for power schools to bank some political points within their states without having to actually play the teams they appear to be throwing a life preserver to. If the season is cancelled, many of these hastily arranged games won't be rescheduled for a later date.

Carolina had already scheduled a home and home with Charlotte ('24 & '25).

I'm guessing that will become moot within the next couple of weeks. The idea of cancelling the season seems to be gaining momentum, and it may be a freight train that's too late to stop.
