My only problem is the one conference which SHOULD have canceled Fall FB, SEC, isn't. (I'm not worried about 1/2 of the ACC, but the other half??).

BTW, I wonder if B1G and Pac-12 will be able to have MORE fans in Spring, than they could in Fall?

BTW, in the mid-80s, Trump wanted spring pro football (he owed the N.J. Generals of the USFL). Now he has spring pro football again: SEC. 03-lmfao

Actually Trump screwed up the USFL by demanding that it move to the fall. He took the NFL to court in an anti-trust case, ostensively to obtain a NFL franchise. And yes he WON, a whole one dollar judgement! He killed the USFL as a result and I agree with Dan, spring football presents a compelling value proposition, there just not has been enough initial investment to establish it.

Gosh I think the country really needs college football and I want those kids who have invested years of their life training to play, the opportunity to do so this fall. I just don't see a rational path for such an endeavor. Our virus information is too incomplete, the game day experience will be severely diminished and starting a season only to postpone games and possibly prematurely end the season would be comical. If you can't do it right, don't do it at all.

You have a good memory Jerry. You forgot 'one detail.' The court awarded the USFL one dollar but since it was anti-trust they tripled it and made it THREE dollars. So instead of one cup of coffee it was three. 03-lmfao

BTW, the USFL played good football and had many excellent players. Many went on to have pro-bowl careers in the NFL.

The ID requirements are stricter post 9 11 and Windsor doesn't have, a stadium for such a team

passports are a hundred dollars and last ten years. theres no excuse not to get one. as for the stadium - youre right about that - they would have to build a new one. u windsor stadium only seats 2,000. but generally speaking CFL stadiums are smaller. they only need to sit 23,000 or so.

RE: MAC CANCELS FALL FOOTBALL
I just found this article on myocarditis and the cancellation of the MAC (and other conference seasons). I didn't know until the last few days that this is a real issue for college athletics.

https://www.espn.com/college-football/st...-viability

"The Mid-American Conference, after receiving medical reports about myocarditis and other problems associated with the coronavirus, was the first FBS conference to postpone fall sports on Saturday."

The action by the MAC started the domino effect. Based on this, I fully support those conferences and teams who have postponed the 2020 fall FB season.

I read today about a Ga State QB who was found to have myocarditis after testing positive for covid.

EDIT: This is the ESPN article.

I wish you guys luck with your campus opening coming up. I'm interested in the approach to require all students to have a saliva-based test before they can move in. Hopefully they can catch potential spread early, I'm afraid we are heading towards a mess on our hands at CMU.

My gut opinion is that students should go back to school, enjoy some the best years of their lives and build the herd immunity that we need. Unfortunately the information about the virus is still at best, confused, conflicted and opinions from those even those versed in science are incredibly fluid. Fauci discouraged masks early, now they are essential to him. The WHO claimed that asymptomatic individuals could not spread the disease and thereafter retracted that statement. Shank, we all could be be headed for a mess or the fall in-person semester could be a huge success. Let's be glad we are not University Presidents.

But what isn't disputed is over 175000 Americans have died so far thousands more crippled for life and today over 1000 Americans will no longer be with us.
And college football is important?
Wearing masks isn't universally required
And 400000 at a motorcycle rally can middle finger the rest of Americans health?

Not downplaying Covid19, know a number of people
that have survived it with no LT damage.
Median age of Covid death is about 78 years. US life expectancy is about 78.7 years.
Lose about 3,300 a day to Cancer and Heart disease.

Dear Boca Rocket,
Cancer, heart disease, traffic deaths, are not contagious. Bringing them into the discussion is meaningless.
