Wow. I just don't see how football teams can possibly make this work. I mean, don't team's entire O-line units and D-line units, etc., practice together as groups each day? How can a team play if one of its entire units has to be quarantined?

You are aware that players get hurt?

Yeah, but rarely does an entire offensive line go down at the same time. That's the difference. As long as we feel it is necessary (and I do not) to quarantine everyone that had contact with a player that has tested positive, then it will be impossible for anyone to field a complete team. Take the quarantining out of the equation, and we can make it work.

I say lets treat this Covid thing the same way we treat the flu and PLAY BALL!!!

Okay, here's the update on ULM's testing via sportswriter Adam Hunsucker:

"ULM has administered a combined 971 PCR and antibody tests since mid-June in eight different sports. Only 13 players have tested positive for COVID-19. That's easily the most comprehensive testing in the Sun Belt and it's also up there nationally."

Two ULM football players have opted out of playing this year due to coronavirus concerns.

SOT1977 it's never a good idea to gloat about someone else's misfortune. Now a COVID outbreak has hit the ULM football team.

It's so ridiculous that football teams are constantly tested for COVID whether they have symptoms or not, yet healthcare workers never are unless they show multiple symptoms.

To be clear, I'm not criticizing the colleges for testing. I'm criticizing hospitals for not testing even though they're way more likely to be exposed in that environment than are football teams.

To be fair, you're not going to get many volunteers in the general community at large for asymptomatic testing. Not many people have 2 weeks of paid time off saved at work so they can afford to stay at home for a week despite feeling perfectly fine.
