I’m glad it’s better there and that she didn’t get it. And , we all want to see UNCW back on the court pressing and winning.

I'm a scientist and can't believe that people will not wear masks indoors. Dumb! If you want freedom, wear a mask period. At my church, we have people that won't! It's tough so a vaccine is the only way with the idiots out there that think that this is a political statement...it's not.

If we want freedom, we don't have to do a single thing because we're Americans and were born free. Take a peek at the Constitution Mr. Scientist....

Americans wore masks and social distanced during the Spanish Flu. Your perspective is a selfish one and not something Anerica should embrace. It goes against American principles to not want to care about your fellow citizens.

So comparing something that happened 100 years ago without modern medicine or care to today...... got it

Wasn’t talking about the science. Was talking about the attitude. The Constitution does indeed allow us to be selfish if we choose to. That doesn’t make it the RIGHT thing to do.

Freedom isn't selfish, it's freedom. You either suppport freedom or you don't. If we go down that path, the majority of the threat to the citizens in this country is because they are very unhealthy, obese and have put themselves at risk due to their "freedom". And now everyone else is losing their freedom because they were free to be so unhealthy. Their selfishness is costing me and my family our freedom.

A healthy person can very easily get the virus and spread it. Being unhealthy when you have the ability not to is certainly selfish. But so is refusing to wear a mask because you want your "freedom".

It's a public health issue. Wearing a mask doesn't do a whole lot to prevent YOU from getting the virus. It's about protecting OTHER people from getting it.

It's about not being a d**k, not so much about the Constitution. Even Seahawkhoops has said in this thread that he wears a mask, even if he doesn't like it. Complain about it all you want. Use that 1st Amendment right. But just wear a mask when you go out. It's not hard.

Conclusion
By making mask-wearing recommendations and policies for the general public, or by expressly condoning the practice, governments have both ignored the scientific evidence and done the opposite of following the precautionary principle.

In an absence of knowledge, governments should not make policies that have a hypothetical potential to cause harm. The government has an onus barrier before it instigates a broad social-engineering intervention, or allows corporations to exploit fear-based sentiments.

Furthermore, individuals should know that there is no known benefit arising from wearing a mask in a viral respiratory illness epidemic, and that scientific studies have shown that any benefit must be residually small, compared to other and determinative factors.

Otherwise, what is the point of publicly funded science?

The present paper about masks illustrates the degree to which governments, the mainstream media, and institutional propagandists can decide to operate in a science vacuum, or select only incomplete science that serves their interests. Such recklessness is also certainly the case with the current global lockdown of over 1 billion people, an unprecedented experiment in medical and political history.

Just because... I’m going to move this thread to “Off Topic”. The topic is being discussed well enough but definitely off topic. Lol

Yep. I'm a prefect example, I had the Flu shot last fall and Flu A kicked my arse in February!
