I'm not watching pro sports due to the BLM junk.

I won't make an exception for the Tigers either.

I might root for the Big Orange this year. No, I got Coach O.

The University has no right to my money. I am not a quitter, but nice kindergarten language try there, bub. Did the University push back at all, like asking for medical proof of any of these ridiculous changes?

A donation to the university is a donation. Buying tickets is a an exchange of money for goods and services. Neither is a god-given right the university has. I know we are not supposed to be political on this board, but I cannot just let this one go without comment. BLM is not a civil rights organization. It is a Marxist organization. The founder of it ADMITTED it in a YouTube video (saying that she is a "trained Marxist"), and the goal of destroying the traditional family unit is enumerated on their website under the "what we stand for" section. They are anarchists. It is literally the equivalent of putting an Antifa sticker on their helmet. They may be unaware of this fact, but that is no excuse when you have a freaking marketing department whose job it is to research this stuff, and correct the assumptions made by those that made this stupid decision.

BLM and ANTIFA are more reasonable and American than the NRA.

We plan to be in the stands if our donation level is high enough. If not we will defer to next season.

Despite some misgivings both off and in the stands, I choose the "opt-in" and "donation" options. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

It breaks my heart seeing politics rip asunder the sports unifying us.

This is an opportunity for our team to float higher than P5 leagues. It is a chance to outshine our G5 competition. This is a chance to be recognized and to build on our momentum. And I hate it but Money makes the machine go.

And really our tickets are cheap. Buy what you can. While the support of other programs wain; lets show err body Memphis backs her own.

Go Option #1 and lets go to another New Years Day Bowl.

Exactly, in the 6ft scenario where my money guarantees I get my full set of tickets it’s option 1.
But in 12ft scenario where the full product I purchased can’t be provided then credit my account until next year when you can provide full product.

Sorry I am buying a product here, I can’t just give my money away just because you’re limited & can’t fully provide it.

My tsf donation (not a lot ) was that a donation so that can be kept, but ticket money goes to full ticket purchases.

I got the email and thinking about taking option 2, just due to uncertainty.

But I agree with what you're saying. The AD has to be considering a premium on these limited supply tickets. It only makes sense. The "premium" will likely come in buying a season ticket for 6 games, but only getting to go to 2 of them (in the 6-ft scenario; 1 game in the 12-ft scenario).

They currently expect the 6-ft scenario to accommodate all season ticket holders

I know, but I don't believe it. I suppose if enough of us take Option 2, it may. But that's what they don't know right now.

Thing is, if it's 6' between ACCOUNTS... i.e. my wife and I can sit right next to each other, the LB "should" accommodate all season ticket holders, I would imagine.

THIS^^^^ I'm an engineer (so decent at math), and I'm not getting this math. You don't calculate 12' distancing between each individual, it's between groups like Geo said. That would allow for a lot more people. If my family of four is allowed to go to a game with a 12' rule, we all four still get to sit clustered together, we just have to be 12' apart from the other clusters of people..................

The people running this seating project cant even count the tickets correctly, and y'all expect them to get groups of different sizes spaced out 6 or 12 feet apart?? 03-lmfao

It's easy to do, once they know what they are working with. The system they use has a total seat map and they can place ticket groups on the map making sure there is enough distance between them.

What they cannot do is place groups on the map before people have told them if they are even planning on coming this year.

Don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, and don’t bother to come back next year. They have never asked for much from football fans, and have given way more back in return. They are asking for help. This is a little more than a retail transaction.

You guys are so extreme. There is middle ground between:
a) I love the University so much and am so rich they can keep my money and I don't even want to see a football game
b) I hate the University and am selfish and I hope they die a miserable death

Whatever, it was a throwaway joke. The point is this is a complicated decision for many people, and you can't just assume that everyone that wants their money back is selfish and hates the University.

Good post! I too am donating my season ticket money in the interest of our university and football program. Those who choose to abandon the program because you are offended by your interpretation of a sticker...sad.

Equally sad, IMO, is the failure of the coach, AD, and President to initially clarify that the logo was not validating and honoring a Marxist organization. Without the follow up clarifications, I would have withdrawn all my support.

From a practical stance, our Administration choose to inject controversial politics into Tiger sports and now must live with the consequences. Protests in our country (so far anyway) are not limited to just one group with grievances.

I heard (on here somewhere) that the news was broken about this before the administration was prepared to explain it. That's why there was a scramble to clarify.
