RE: Will Liberty be able to buy a schedule
I wouldn't try to get a FCS opponent this year, a number of FCS conferences have already canceled. The Big Sky just canceled, the FCS is getting toward half the schools not playing this year.

Good point...however, if one is available the NCAA is allowing 2 FCS wins to count for bowl eligibility.

RE: Will Liberty be able to buy a schedule
Our AD says we are planning on an FCS opponent for September 12th to settle on a 11-game schedule. We curretly still have a contract with NC A&T for that date. The Aggies are still debating whether to play games this fall or just wait for the spring. If that does fall through there are currently some nearby FCS indies with whom we have conversations (i.e. JMU, Elon & possibly Villanova). Yes, there have been continued conversations with ODU & BYU on contingency plans for all of us.

Having that Oct 31st date open gives us some flexibility to reschedule should games start getting canceled on short notice early on.

It should also be noted that we didn't open up the checkbook at all in the wake of the pandemic.

Keeping the 3 ACC games kinda caught me off guard. Can only imagine what would have happened if more P5 schools played OOC games. BTW, you might need to grab a game if the MAC shuts down.
