Divisionless Now!
The 2020 schedule is proof there's no reason why the ACC can't go to divisionless scheduling immediately. Yes, the rules are restrictive and we'd like to see that silly 2-division round-robin rule go away, but in the meantime there are multiple ways to get 12 games AND divisionless scheduling. I outline three ways here:

Another is to simply drop the ACC CG and declare the regular season winner as the champ (all the while offering to sell the ACC CG back to ESPN, of course!)

What do you guys think - is it time to do away with divisions? Is it worth the hassle now, even under the current NCAA rules? If so, which option do you favor?

RE: Divisionless Now!
You have some creative ideas.
My personal preference is to just restart the push to have the rules changed. Ultimately, I would like for the ACC to go to the 3-5-5 conference schedule module we've discussed ad nauseam on this board. Of course, that requires a majority of the conferences to agree to change the current rules. Until that time, I would be fine with going back to the way things were pre-2020. However, I think the push to change the rules that force conferences of our size to have divisions in order to stage the conference championship game should be greatly intensified.
However, to play along, the option that I like the best would be the one where the two best teams face off in the conference championship game, and then everyone else plays a ninth flex conference game.

RE: Divisionless Now!
I don't need the buy game being last, but vote for 8+4 because I agree with the suggested 3-5-5 format for conference scheduling (2-6-6 if ND could ever be convinced to join).
