Garrett Wolfe vs. Iowa 2006 - The beating he took and an appreciaition
I'm sure a lot of people on the board were in Iowa back in 2006 for this game but I went back and rewatched it on YouTube a few days ago and it's remarkable the beating Garrett Wolfe took and still managed to get up. It's reminiscent of Lynch vs. FSU.
I'd take the Cowboy and the Burner over Wolfe in my list of all-time NIU RBs but man was Wolfe tough.
Game is here if you want to rewatch. It's brutal at times.

Britt Davis drops a 4th & 2 pass for first down on the first drive. That sounds about right haha.

You mean world-class “7” dropped a pass? Nah, it couldn’t be!

Being at that game, the plan screamed for more passing early. Pass to setup Wolfe. Loved Novak but man... run baby run re of what the D was giving you. The other side is we had some wideouts that didn’t “caress the ball” well. (I think that ESPN analyst was fired after that comment lol

Yes, didn't he say something like "I know that sounds g.ay" and then Boo-Yah canned him or suspended him.

OK, it's at the 19:40 mark of the video. What an idiot. I think he was a former Falcons WR.
