Had the pleasure of following Jamie throughout his career here in Detroit on WDFN, 97.1 and Fox2 and met him through a family connection. Truly an intelligent, down-to-earth and overall great guy that will be sorely missed. We all need to take his advice and take colon cancer screening seriously. RIP Jamie.

'Straight man,' 'smartest man' Jamie Samuelsen of 97.1 The Ticket dies of cancer at age 48

Very sad to hear of his passing last night. only a few days after he divulged he had cancer on the air. he battled since jan. 2019. get screened - https://www.cancer.org/cancer/colon-rect...tions.html

from cancer.org: Overall, the lifetime risk of developing colorectal cancer is: about 1 in 23 (4.4%) for men and 1 in 25 (4.1%) for women.

The man was brave beyond reproach. At deaths doorstep he makes the diagnosis public and advises everybody to get screened. Jamie, you’re going to be a tough act to follow. May the Lord bless you and your family.
