I suspect we'll end up seeing some combination of that, at least among UMass, Liberty, Uconn, and NMSU. Possibly Army too.

The under 2 hour bus ride pod makes the most sense for UConn, Army, and UMass. Liberty is in there. BYU is certainly a possibility. Don't see playing NMSU twice, it would surprise me it that ever happened. However for UConn they may have to consider it if the governor lets them play.

The indies are in a real pickle. Cancelling the season entirely won't save them any significant money, and playing the kind of schedule they could cobble together won't give them any significant revenue.

ken_d not sure about the pickle you are talking about. There will be some trimming but we have already cut 4.5-5M from a 40M athletic budget. Our attendance numbers have not been hitting out of the park, so social distancing would not be an issue or even no fans as game day cost will go down. The potential 5 games being a bus ride also cuts travel cost. Possible not 5 games, but Boston College is possible along two games with UConn and Army. Both are already on the schedule. We need the experience as are an extremely young team. UConn folks can talk on the specifics, but feel they had significant churn. IMHO, Liberty has resources and fairly strong, except they did lose a significant player due to culture fit. That was a nice way of saying something that was bad.

Kind of ruling out the NM teams on the schedule, because of the governor.

If the ACC plays that 11th game, I would hope they would play UMass. You guys already schedule each other for one of BC's out of conference games regularly. Don't know what will happen now that the SEC has decided to go with 10 conference games only. That knocks out UF / FSU, Kentucky / Louisville, Clemson/ South Carolina, and Georgia and G-Tech rivalries for this year. If ND plays a ten game ACC schedule, will they play Navy or USC OOC this year. 04-cheers

On the bright side, 4 of those 6 cancellations are road games—there will be plenty of schools out their trying to fill scheduling holes who would jump on picking up UConn.
