RE: SEC players/admin Covid forum
The SEC has already told all players that if any want to sit this year out they will lose no eligibility and will not suffer any scholarship loss.
I think what they are really trying to do is to let the players know all that they know and let them make an informed decision.

RE: SEC players/admin Covid forum
Athletes have a very small window. It could cost a player millions to delay the start of their professional career. Sitting out a year and returning for players looking to play next year won’t happen. If a player elects to set out this season, it’ll be to prepare for the upcoming draft in their sport.
Theoretically, if the NCAA cancels this football season, does a player like Lawrence at Clemson or Hubbard at Oklahoma State wait to play next year, of course not. They are gone.

Seems odd that the SEC felt the need to respond to the Washington Post article. Was it just to point out that the conference call was meant to be confidential?

The moderator promptly directed the question to Shawn G. Gibbs, dean of Texas A&M’s School of Public Health. Gibbs promptly punted. “Remember,” he said. “I’m an industrial hygienist, so I’m not the medical person here.”
Marshall Crowther, a sports medicine physician at Mississippi, stepped in. “The problem is a lot of this we don’t know,” Crowther said.
LOL Dean of Public Health is just an industrial hygienist?? So aggy

Right, but not every player is a Lawrence, with tens of millions of NFL dollars sitting on the table, in fact the vast majority will never play a down in the NFL, even among the top P5 programs.
So the SEC policy could be very appealing to many players.

Seems there's at least one SEC player that's still concerned about having a season this fall. That is unless a non-player leaked that audio to the national press.

Someone probably taped it to share with teammates and one of the teammates leaked it.

The next one they will probably have to have a lawyer there and get them all to sign NDAs.

Could be. And that teammate is clearly not happy. Yeah, he could sit out without risk of losing HIS scholarship, but that wouldn't help his teammates as they slobberknock people all fall.
