Epstein was convicted, 2006 or so I think. Got a limp slap on the wrist for what I recall was some pretty serious charges. He was given 18 mo's or so, and allowed to leave each day to go to his "office". They said it was the best deal they could get in order to secure a conviction.

What started all this again was some actual "reporting" (shocking, I know) by a Miami Herald reporter (I think that's right) that exposed or brought this entire sordid mess to the fore again when the Prosecutor involved in the deal became Labor Secretary or something.

Both Epstien and now Maxwell have been deemed flight risks and put in lock-up until trial, so I'd imagine there's more than just a little there, there.

It has not been reported in many places, but Dershowitz was involved in crafting that 'deal' attributed to Acosta and in it, he managed to get immunity not only for Maxwell and other co-conspirators, but himself. He is named as participating and watching the sexual assaults by at least one of the accusers/victims and now the documents are out there.

Im extremely skeptical of all of this. I find it really hard to believe that the level of misdoings being reported could be keep under wraps for so long. Using Occam's razor?...The most logical explanation is the the island was a party spot and lots of crazy schit happened there as you would expect on a party island and since there were some super rich and famous people around that most of these accusations are driven by wanting a payday in a court somewhere. There could have been some criminal behavior..but probably not to the extent we are being led to believe.

'Only 40' some victims have come forth so far. They estimate it could be in the hundreds. I believe there is plenty of cause here and this is long overdue. She is still innocent until proven guilty or suicided. Then all this magically starts to just fade away. Or they say she died in jail from Covid. The possibilities are endless.
